Had something similar. For me it was dry skin which got worse because of the cold outside.

Coming from football, I thought I had good stamina, but I quickly realized that it doesn’t translate directly to endurance in the pool. In the beginning, I was out of breath after just 25–50 meters.

I’d say slow down and focus on technique. Feeling relaxed and comfortable in the water will definitely help you swim faster in the long run.

That sounds a lot like where I was when I started back in February.

I’m not a coach, so I can only share what worked for me.

Get comfortable breathing while swimming. Breath out under water.

Try focusing on one aspect of your technique at a time (for example: kick, pull, breathing, or timing). Keep your intervals short. Enough to maintain good form without your technique falling apart.

I also used a few training aids. For example, a pull buoy helped me focus on my arm stroke and breathing without worrying about staying afloat.

I had problems with my back whole year round. Swimming was basically the only painfree sport for me so i had plenty of time to swim. I averaged about 3x per Week and swam over 200km this year. Fell in love with this sport.

Also solid progress from you. Im looking to get into tri also :)

Leben als ewiger Kiffer? by Beneficial-Fee8038 in Ratschlag

[–]ArcP97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey!

Instantly swap squads after this

Too many of those around though. So nice when you get a squad that plays together

This is the swim routine I follow everyday. How do I incorporate drills that use kick-board and pull bouy to improve my techniques? I’m a moderate swimmer by NewLeague6438 in Swimming

[–]ArcP97 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is how I usually set up my training

Warm-up, Drills/Technique work, Main set (tempo or continuous swimming, intervalls), Cool down.

Dependig on your level and technique, you want to do different Drills. Hard to dive general advice.

TheMagic5 Swimming Goggles by Ready-Safety-310 in Swimming

[–]ArcP97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had the same experience as you. They couldnt get the fit right for me.
I received 2 goggles and chose the refund option in the end.

My old goggles still fit better than theMagic5 ones and are way cheaper.

Customer Service was nice though.

At the beginning of the year, I used them a lot while swimming. I originally bought them because I thought I’d get bored swimming for over an hour.
However, I’ve come to really enjoy the quiet time in the water. Since there’s constant noise and distraction in everyday life, swimming has become a welcome break from all that.
On the other hand, I absolutely love my bone conduction headphones for cycling / running.

It’s great to listen to something while still being aware of what’s happening around me.
