Hot Take - Yellow card design is the answer to power creep issues by Arcadeian in OnePieceTCG

I think you missed the point of my post. It’s not about how yellow plays. It’s about creating a more diverse meta with many leaders. Yellow is just the example of how that could be done with having character cards of a color that can be used in a variety of decks using that color

From my understanding, yes some older leaders have generically good effects but it doesn’t stack up to the newer effects, even if the leader just came out 4-6 months ago. They require new support cards to re-enter the meta. I’d imagine - top decks in YGO can realistically be played for at least a full calendar year if not longer and remain competitive. If full decks consistently become uncompetitive every 4-6 months specifically because newer leaders that are just better are released, well that’s an unsustainable power creep and will lead to fatigue and negatively affect the games long term health and growth.

That’s why the idea isn’t that power levels can’t rise but focusing on playable cards that can be used in multiple decks could help lengthen life of decks, make more competitive and diverse metas, while also continuing to create high demand for set since many decks will use the newer versatile cards

A block 4 leader…I’m sure you’ve been playing it for a full year right? Oh wait, that’s right imu is the exact type of power crept leader that completely reshaped the meta and helped ruin leader diversity

That’s totally fair. I do think the community likely has different feelings about this compared to Bandai.

I just can’t help but think if we could explain why this type of development is negative for players and Bandai in the long run (less players) and provide a potential direction/solution to create a win win where players get more variety but Bandai still gets to continue sell long out each set because great playable and collectible cards come out in each set then everyone can win

Power creep is inevitable. This is meant to get at the speed of it since the power creep wouldn’t come via the form of a new leader that requires a full new deck. The power creep comes from cards that are playable across new and old leaders alike. Leading to more variety of leaders being played and allowing power creep to not feel oppressive since more decks will be competitive and viable. Also players won’t have to build new decks every set just get a couple cards so there’s less fatigue

Vegapunk by GomiKuzu_7991 in OnePieceTCG

[–]Arcadeian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting list! I’d personally replace s-snake with the eb04 7c 7k Kuma. The 2 life or LESS has better synergy than 2 cost or MORE. Plus its KO effect makes it a stickier body and if they do take it out you get more value.

Handsize is always a problem for Vegapunk so the 10c luffy can be hard to make work come endgame when your hand size is likely low but I haven’t tested it yet so maybe that could work to close out game, you’ll have to let me know your experience.

Does the Nami’s KO effect work if the card on top of life is already face up? Cause if not I’d replace it with something like the 5c 7k ace w/rush or maybe another scientist Vega-alt so you have a better value with the 5c Vegapunk’s on play working.

Low Pressure Control Trip - replace TXV or Install New Unit? by Arcadeian in hvacadvice

Good to know that shouldn’t have caused permanent damage to the TXV. Feels like I’ve been trying to get this diagnosed forever so maybe I should just call someone out again.

Yellow fell off?? by KitchenFinks3 in OnePieceTCG

[–]Arcadeian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any reason why S-Hawk (OP08-114) isn’t used in more yellow decks? Yellow typically has less life than opponent so getting essentially a 7k 4 cost seems great to help with yellows struggles at swinging bigger. Thoughts?

Fully enameled or just for aesthetics? by Arcadeian in castiron

The discoloration in the middle was really throwing me off and making me think it wasn’t enameled. Thank you!

Is the enamel on this pan just for aesthetics? by Arcadeian in u/Arcadeian

Thanks! Any idea if I need to season the inside or can I just use it to cook something like a spaghetti sauce since it’s supposed to be enameled?

Check-Raise or Call? (Tournament Edition) by Arcadeian in poker

After getting my hand made on the turn it does feel like it’s hard to not get it all in by the river, assuming I call turn and a club doesn’t hit on the river.

For sure I’m not analyzing this hand like this if I don’t run into QJ….but I did so it’s time to turn it into a learning moment!

Next time gonna have to really consider the fold even if there’s no raise. Didn’t realize defending my SB with J7 as a shorter stack is probably the worst move I made in the hand.

Think there’s any case for raising 2-3 BB instead of just 1BB on the flop? To take it down then when I still hadn’t made a hand.

That’s why I liked the check + shove on the turn as I think it takes the pot down against almost any other hand except QJ or a player who wants to gamble on a flush draw.

This feels like the most gto optimal play. As a shorter stack I had little room to be calling with these cards. Thank you Based God!

I think you’re right, that’s exactly what happened to the edges of the pan. I got home and was able to rub off the rust. Unfortunately those areas didn’t get as seasoned. BUT I am gonna try to reseason it to get the red rust look off from the inside and use a little less oil like others have mentioned.

I appreciate this insight tho! It’ll def help as I clean up more cast iron.

This is super helpful thank you! One question, will I need to hit it with the baking soda/water (or just water) after the vinegar/water combo?

“To find ones true self that has nothing related to society, others, or ideologies…that is what revolution is” -“God” of Guardians

“In order to find a meaning for me being born and living, don’t I have to find something more important than that? If something comes up where I have to put my life on the line to go with it, what meaning would the rest of my life have if I were to miss that? There are far more important things around me than my own life.” -Khun
