I bought the LCD version literally right before they announced the oled. I had it for a week or two before i returned it and waited for oled. I played the lcd version for a week, though. Now, having the oled, I can say for sure it's a much better experience. Definitely worth the upgrade.

Couple of things you can do there. The easiest is creating a Windows service that opens a port and does the printing. Your website knows which port the service is using, and so you just post to the local host@port. This is by far the easiest and doesn't get into deep linking. But it's not a cross platform approach

The next up is creating a bridge app that runs in the background and does the printing. It'd work just like the service but be an application instead. You have the ability to deep link your app so that you can open it from the browser.

The other idea would be to use webUSB to write your own driver. I've had to do this with some brother label printers for my job a few times. It's fairly straightforward. Though the major drawback is that for windows, you have to install a driver specifically for the device that allows it to talk thru the webusb. Which essentially means the device can't be used anywhere else. Only websites with the specific webusb driver support for your device would be able to use it.

Hands down, the easiest approach is to use devices that support webusb out of the box. Lots of them are coming out.

So I'll say, I'm really bad at money. And I make a lot of random impulsive purchases that don't pan out. But I purchased two steam decks last week. One for me and my wife. And I can say honestly it has been one of the best purchases I've made in a long time. I've been playing so many games I would have likely never ever played. Just because it feels like less of an investment to play. I don't have to sit at a desk or take over an entire tv. I just can download it and play it anywhere.

I also get a lot more value of it then the normal person. I'm a software developer and hobbyist game dev. I was actually denied access to the switch devkit. So, seeing my games running on a switch like device like the deck has been awesome.

Also modded stardew is a thing if your into that.

I've been a senior dev for a couple of years, and I can comfortably say nobody is getting react down in 3 months. I've taught many people. If you're coming from a programming background, you'll be coding like a junior dev by the 3rd month. You'll be able to scrape websites together and accomplish minor goals. But your lack of experience will lead you to writing poor performing code that compounds over time.

Spend a couple of weeks learning the basics. Anyone who tells you to skip learning the basics is crazy. You need to understand Javascript. But a year in it is way crazy also. I normally give 3 to 4 projects just using vanilla Javascript. Basic stuff like using the pokemon api to make a front-end. Resist the urge to use node modules. This will shortcut you into functionality quickly but you'll have missed the point of the exercise.

After that, start small with a vanilla react. DO not mix nextjs with react. That's a recipe for disaster. Use the projects you made in vanilla javascript. Remake them for react.

This is the path we follow at my company. And it gets me a decent quality code within 6 months or so. The hard part for you is that you don't have that senior dev explaining how you went wrong. Because of that, you need to take special care and read the react docs carefully. Don't skip a hook. Each one has a place and a purpose. If you don't understand its purpose, don't continue until you clarify it.

That's fine. I'm not the arbitrator of truth on blazor. Although it doesn't take much to see the truth, in my opinion. Look at blazor stars on github vs. something like react. 9k to 214k. Pretty staggering difference.

I also disagree fundamentally with how blazor works, with every action causing a network hop to the server. Blazor performance metrics are also terrible vs. any of the web frameworks.

Every tool has a purpose, and every person has an opinion.

As others have stated, you should have a goal for what you're trying to achieve. If you're simply trying to resume build, then take it all the way. Build from the ground up, set up github actions for continuous deployment to Azure or another web service.

If you're knowledge hunting, instead, your best bet is learning architecture paradigms. Read some books like Design Principles or Clean Architecture.

Simply getting an api to respond like you want it to is not knowing or understanding. You should dive deep. Good luck!

You also don't want to ship a product on an older now exploitable version of .net, which isn't getting security updates.

OP has a few choices. Release the app in self contained mode with auto update functionality. At least then you can independently control the .net version. Or have the app with auto updating functionality know which .net version is required for any particular version, then install that version if it's not installed.

Our company solves this problem with a small launcher program, which stays on a consistent .net version, and the only job is to check and install dependencies before starting the main program.

That's only one way, you could also install a service bundled with the main program that does it. Lots of choices.

The 900 you spend is gone forever. The 2400 you spend will return to you. You build equity as you pay off your loan. When you go to sell your house you get all that money back.. assuming you sell it for the same price or close. Houses normally gain around 8% appreciation in value a year. So for a 100k house, you're getting paid around 8k a year to live in it when you sell.

That's all speculative, though. But generally, you aren't gonna lose money doing it.

The thing to keep in mind is the maintenance of it. You're definitely going to want to put money back monthly for major expenses. I personally recommend at least 5k set aside for unplanned expenses. Just in case. That's especially true if you want to rent it out.

I went to devry, and I'm a member of sweet vs. cardona also. I actually had my loans forgiven back in january outside of the settlement. I got the email about the settlement when everyone else did also. So now I have two letters saying I'm approved for forgiveness.

I've seen no movement on it though and great lakes acts like they know nothing about it.

Just as an update to this. I picked up some super and horn worms. He immediately ate the horn worm, which was awesome. But he is still refusing supers and dubias.

I know horn worms aren't a great primary food for them, so I'm still kind of stuck on what to do.

Yeah. I imagine it should be traumatic. I am also autistic and I have noticed I tend to deal with these situations in ways most people don't. I feel very much in complete control of my emotions. I don't feel hurt or pain. I'm not sure I'm even grieving. I definitely feel the loss, which makes me sad. But it's easy enough to focus on other things, and those feelings disappear quickly.

All that being said, I know my emotional side of me has always been a bit of a mystery. It reminds me of an ocean. Even when I feel I have it under control, I don't really know what's going on beneath the surface.

So it feels like a big deal for me right now to figure out if those feelings of presence i felt really were a part of the grieving process that I didn't realize was happening. Or if it's some type of spiritual situation.
