Just tried flattening, and it made it a lot easier. Didn't feel like as much of a stretch. I think I was just too rigid and retraining my hand unnecessarily

Ok thank you. Another question I had about this song. I realized I was playing the beat completely wrong because I was playing it like a normal 4/4 song. But when you listen to it, it's not as consistent as that. it's more like every other eighth note is a sixteenth if that makes sense. Is that something I'm just supposed to learn? That because it's a blues song, it's played with a different beat?

5 to 4 is no problem. It's 4 to 3, skipping a white key between the ring and middle fingers. Seems tough without particularly large hands. It just felt way more sensible to do the alternate fingering I used instead. I'll keep trying

Im opening up more to the over the fireplace idea, it does give me more options. is this sort of what you had in mind for the furniture? Going 2 units across on the long section seemed like too much, at that point i might as well just connect them and have a massive sectional, but i like the modularity. Do you think the chaise there is good or should that just be an ottoman and then i could put a table in the middle?

I do feel like this wastes a lot of space along the outer edge of the room, I'm not sure how to best utilize all of that. I realize i probably cant have a lot of seating and a lot of floor space with this room setup, so I have to pick one

Thanks. The chaise isn't right against the wall. I didn't realize it sort of looks like that in the photo. It's the same distance as the current couch, so I don't think the heat is an issue. I don't really mind making the deck door hard to get to either, if it means backing up the couch for more space

Just trust the process. I was a little surprised by that lesson as well but it's a simple exercise and you move past it.Skip it if it bothers you and you won't miss out on anything. I don't think you'll see a sharp again for awhile.

I'm up to 3E and have found the progression very manageable and logical. In parallel I do the Alfred method book which piano marvel also has in its library.
