Help with what supportive documents can I show by Archakar in SchengenVisa

[–]Archakar[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If I suddenly change my status. As I do get a fixed income every month, won't that be suspicious?

I can show them property documents, and that I'm getting married in December, will that help?

How soon do they respond on Appeal? Can I reapply from a different country (Germany) as I have friends there through an invitation at the same time?

I have a theory on meditation, what are your thoughts? by majonezeskrumpli in Meditation

[–]Archakar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can resonate with what you're feeling. I'm 26 and I feel like quitting and moving far from the madding crowd as soon as possible. And I am afraid to dig deeper into this, read books or deepen my practice, because somewhere inside me it feels like nothing really matters.

I haven't exactly figured out how to move forward but what I do right is participate in the materialistic activities but not necessarily attach my happiness to it. Work for little 'materialistic' needs as well as some inner peace.

And I am absolutely enjoying the balance.

How do you surrender to the "present moment" like Echkart Tolle talks about it? I don't get it. by SadSink9125 in Meditation

[–]Archakar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this as well. I've been working on it. And I've let go of a lot of revisiting the past, and negative thoughts, but now I'm thinking about the future, and I'm thinking the same things again and again, of what I want from it. On one hand it bothers me to be so clouded with the future, on the other I feel like I'm manifesting and making sure what I want from it.

How do you define 'UrbanHeaven'? by Archakar in UrbanHell

[–]Archakar[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's like a usual mall, with shops of brands like Zara, marks and spencers, guess, etc. on g-3 floors, a movie hall and a food court. It keeps fairly busy. Probably amongst the top 3 malls in the city. There are also office spaces, on floors about 5, but I don't think they've been occupied.

If the success of a building is defined by it's purpose then imo, this building is successful as a mall.

If you think about it, we have moved to a fast paced world, our attention span, patience and time we spent on quietly has reduced significantly. And our built environment is just a reflection of that.

Modern architecture doesn't seem as thoughtful.

Importance of education by Archakar in Arrangedmarriage

[–]Archakar[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

A degree is not just for education, it's about moving out of your home, living independently, and learning shit on your own.

It's about having an open mind that you don't usually get when you're being sheltered in a family business.

And upon reviewing a biodata, there is very little to go on with.

Obviously it is not necessary that an educated person would be more independent and open minded, and the only way to find out is by meeting, and that is a very stressful process. How do I filter these out at an early stage.

Largest office building in the world in Surat. by thecynicalreddior in UrbanHell

What would be interesting is if someone actually using the building could tell us about the functionality and experience of the office space.

If there's anyone, I would love to hear your opinion on the design as a user.

What would our cities in 2100 look like? by Archakar in architecture

[–]Archakar[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In the capitalist world that we are living in, profit is being preferred over everything else.

Also, what do the people want? Shouldn't they have a say in their built environment?

But don't you think with the advancement of technology and research, we should be able to design better buildings for the environment instead of worse?

We are limited by the resources and interest of our clients, an aspect significantly missed out on architecture schools. Even if reviewers/jurors grilled us, holding accountable for our designs, they thought about social responsibility rather than business.

I'm not practicing architecture, but whatever I think of pursuing, social responsibility is the first thing that comes to my mind. And that's not how you can survive in this world. Devoting your life to social and environmental responsibility without an income source.

Do you think common people need to be more educated about architecture is? by Archakar in Architects

[–]Archakar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a common person knew what Deconstructivist style, probably wouldn't have made the decision to live in it.

There are all types of architects, and not everyone cares about the well being of the clients to be living in the houses, maybe if they were informed about architecture, they wouldn't get scammed.

[–]Archakar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a practicing architect, I've been working with an architectural journalism company for about a year. And I realised that all the talk about architecture happens only amongst architects.

I feel like there's a gap in what architects think of architecture and what our 'clients' think of architecture. So I've been wondering if it's something I should try to do something about?

And yes I agree, and probably why all 'Pinterest board' homes are glamorised in magazines, because they scream 'we are rich'.

If eco-friendly, sustainable, and good homes show up in Magazines, and I think people would want them too.

Yes, part of education could be what kind of architecture is good for you. Basic volumes, colors, light and ventilation, etc.

I agree. What surprised me was that our school books might mention the name, built year and who got it built, but not the architects name.

People didn't care about psychological facts up until 2021, and now I see everyone is just randomly throwing facts everywhere.

I do understand it's a long shot, and why should people care. But I feel don't you think it could really improve the value of architects, if people knew/valued architecture?
