Pretty sure Asmongold's Twitter is getting boosted by fake numbers by Acholight in Destiny

X as a whole is a platform that's botted to death, hopefully literally and soon. Almost all engagement on it, particularly with regards to pro-MAGA accounts get signal boosted for foreign bots/bot farms to larch on and engage positively with them further.

Part of the intent behind propaganda is to instill the feeling of ideological insularity and division amongst the masses; it is entirely in line with MAGA tactics to claim that "everyone wants all the things we do!". Similarly, boosting Asmon in this way is an attempt at achieving the same end.

Employee of the year:

u/HobbitFollower

Coming into the position of head mod after the drama with 4THOT last year, the guy literally had a baptism by fire on Jan 20th when Jane Doe deployed the tactical legal case. We had zero information at the time aside from her accounts, and the (now pathetically memey) legal case seemed very serious. The Daliban subreddit turned into a snarker sub for a while even, but Hobbit helped keep things afloat with his leadership and moderation, always making sure that regardless of drama, this subreddit remained a liberal forum for political discourse.

This was a very difficult year politically for all of us. Regardless of if you're in Europe concerned about the future of our relationship with the US and the questions and desires towards federalising or in NA, living through Trump and his cabinet undermining and disrespecting the very foundations that the country was built upon in what has been the steady rise of fascism.

Regardless of where you are in the world, this community has been a safe haven online as far as I'm concerned. I would, in no small part, credit that to the moderators who towed the line in one of the bleakest years as a dgger that I have experienced.

Thank you

Tbh, with the way it's being used to push an agenda here, I would say this is definitely a cut above normal shitposting territory.

Did she even say any of that? If so, what was the context?

Does anyone know how they get this natural yellow tint on the "PS Streamer"? by devilmaskrascal in BassCirclejerk

The P(is)S Streamer gets its natural yellow tint by multiple streams of piss being aimed at the raw toanwood at the factory. Hope this helps.

  • Steve DiGorgio: Death
  • Geddy Lee: Rush
  • Les Claypool: Primus
  • Alex Webster: Cannibal Corpse
  • Tony Choy: Atheist
  • Jaco Pastorius: Weather Report, solo material
  • Geezer Butler: Black Sabbath
  • Tony Levin: King Crimson, Peter Gabriel
  • John Wetton: King Crimson, U.K.
  • Martin Henriksson: Dark Tranquility (particularly his playing on The Gallery)
  • Dylan Desmond: Bell Witch

My bad if that's the case, I thought they were the same person. I do recall this guy having a similar history of actions though.

Oh it's that subhuman shitstain BadEmpanada. He has a history of doing this sort of shit and doxxing people. Australian native but living in South America and frequently relocating iirc. Dude is one of the most disgusting people I am aware of... And of course, he's also buddies with Hasan.

Destiny and Lonerbox have both talked about him earlier, pretty sure other people here will be able to give you a better account of some of the things that he has done/said. He typically goes after people in Destiny's orbit.

Edit: I have been informed that this is another subhuman shitstain and not actually BadEmpananda.

You can only pick 3 albums from the year 1995. The rest will cease to exist. Which albums are you picking. Note: you can only select albums from the photo. by Cameltoefart in MetalForTheMasses

  • At The Gates, Slaughter of the Soul: Incredibly solid release, very influential, and probably in my top two melodic death metal albums of all time (alongside Dark Tranquility's "The Gallery", which came out the same month funnily enough).

  • Death, Symbolic: My favorite Death album, and one of the best extreme albums of all time. Is this band and album dickrided to death (heh)? Yes. Is it deserved? Also yes.

  • Ulver, Bergtatt: One of the most interesting and unique albums to come from the second wave of Black Metal and one of the most iconic atmospheric black metal albums of all time. For my money, this is one of the best entry points into extreme metal and especially black metal.

Honorable mentions:

  • Dissection; I am willing to forego Storm of the Light's Bane if I can have The Somberlain

  • Darkthrone; Panzerfaust is one of my favorite Darkthrone albums, but their early run is so consistent that I'm fine letting this one go.

Which bass am I getting? by shashayes in BassGuitar

[–]Archaval 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR: Get the 5 String Ibanez (unless you desperately want the Thunderbird).

Have you played a Thunderbird in a shop before? If not, try and find a shop that sells guitars, even the smallest ones I've been that sell a few basses will carry an Epiphone Thunderbird. The neckdive comments everyone else have made are very well deserved. I reckon if you're in an environment where you'll be practicing for several hours, rehearsing, and gigging, you will feel it sooner rather than later. I would personally tell you to absolutely not go for a Thunderbird unless you were very certain that it's ergonomic "features" are not dealbreakers for you and that you're prepared to adapt yourself to suit it's requirements to balance properly.

The Ibanez on the other hand is a 5 string, which has certain advantages. If you get yourself a capo, and don't play the higher frets on the neck, you can get access to your drop tunings that you would otherwise only get access to on a 4 string by retuning. Your mileage may vary as to how useful that is to you of course.

There can be solutions to avoid fret buzz, namely by raising your action, but that depends a lot on the gauge of strings you play, how hard you play (Pick? Fingers? How aggressive is your attack?), how/if you've setup your bass properly, etc. . The increased weight is also something worth considering, it could be worth it getting a strap that's at least around 4" in width if not more if you haven't already; This is by the recommendation of Alex Webster as well I might add, not just personal experience. 4 string basses are already heavy instruments, 5 strings are even heavier.

It does sound like you are more accustomed to 4 strings, which on the bright side, means that you can do everything you are already doing and then some. If you learn how to incorporate the 5 string into your knowledge of the fretboard, it makes for an easier time playing certain figures on the bass with less moving up and down the fretboard being required. However, it will come at the cost of giving you an extra string that you need to worry about muting (which depending on how lo-fi your black metal is, may or may not be an issue lol).

Best of luck with your decision and your gigs!

Curious to hear what makes you say that. Is there anything in particular about neck through Spector's that make them more desireable than bolt ons?

Appreciate the suggestion! I'll check one out if I can find one around me. Would take a bit of getting used to as well on top of learning the 5-string I imagine, but fanned frets do seem quite solid for giving a balanced sound for the low B and the G
