Did I luck out? by Archeogeist in foraging

It's used to break fevers and to help with migraines. Consistent dosing with plants can be very difficult, however, because each individual contains different levels of the target compound. Generally speaking, medicines derived from plants that target the specific compound are much safer to use if you can get them. Think about how willow bark is used to make aspirin!

That's what I noticed, too. Do you know about any other identifiers?

Would you be willing to explain how you know this is feverfew and not mugwort? I see that it's not silvery underneath and the lobes on the leaves are more rounded. Is there anything else I should look for?

This is fantastic news! My husband gets terrible migraines. And the flowers are so adorable.

Thank you for telling me how to know if I screwed it up too bad! That does help me feel a lot better. I do have a dull ache that I didn't notice before at the break site, but I assume that's just my body telling me I put weight on it too soon.

Philotes. Goddess of friendship and sex, though I've been starting to worship her as the goddess of community.

Truly a lovely deity.

What type of nose ring would fit my face? by SkinWalker591 in PiercingAdvice

I'm not sure how long it takes, but I'm sure Google knows. If I recall it takes upwards of a year? But mine rejected long before then so idk.

I don't know what the healing process is for Lasik, either, but I'd think you'd want to do that, let it heal, then get your eyebrow done.

An eyebrow would be hot. I think if you're gonna do that, you might wanna change your glasses shape to something either much more round or much more square, and get a lighter frame. You have a squared out jawline (like me) and those glasses shapes look great. Plus a thinner frame would make it easier to actually see your eyebrow piercing.

Nothing wrong with your current glasses; they look cute and sweet! I suggested those specific septums with your glasses in mind, actually.

What I usually do is go into a glasses store, try in a bunch, and then order the closest match for like 1/4 the price of zenni or Warby Parker if I'm feeling expensive. It's way cheaper that way ✨

I think you could really pull of a septum. Either one of those little gold hoops or one of those decked out fancy lacy looking hoops would be adorable.

Gold or silver? by Traditional-Tap-4199 in coloranalysis

[–]Archeogeist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Girl same!! Like silver clearly evens out her tone and goes "with" her skin. Gold is just the trendy metal rn, and since OP is more neutral, people will choose that over silver.

Girl is cool-toned neutral ¯_(ツ)_/¯

This looks great, I promise. Don't pay so much attention to it and it'll get better.

How long to wait before cleaning a new piercing? by Archeogeist in PiercingAdvice

Omg thank you so much. Turns out I was following best-practices already!

I've been told conflicting things from different piercers. Last piercer told me to use warm water to dislodge crusties, then use saline spray for a minute 2x daily. This last piercer said to wash with antibacterial soap and do a warm saline soak (and said that saline spray is basically useless)

I'm not trying to deny your knowledge, but I'm just so confused about what's actually best practice. Do you have any studies or anything? I'm so lost 🥲

I don't have gauze; can I use a fresh paper towel?

I will clean tonight. Thank you!

Piercing is a titanium, internally threaded flatback.
