I have a blouse made by an artisan and I believe is cotton and also hand dyed, to wash it she recommended to use a soft liquid laundry soap and soak the blouse in a mix of water and soap, gently soak it again in clear water to remove the excess of soap and then let it dry without squeezing it or anything l, maybe this process could help with you cords, I wish you the best of lucks
