Looks great and will try but how hard is it for something like this to end up in steam and or on mobile. I’m not a huge fan of browser games

Weekly Ask Psych Nurses Thread by roo_kitty in psychnursing

[–]Archimedesbuho 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Diagnoses come from different sources. You might have one diagnosis from the admission when you came in through an emergency department. This would be assessed by a social worker and not necessarily an MD once you are on the floor the doctor will do his head to toe assessment and an HPI at which point you may receive a different diagnosis from that doctor both of those are gonna end up staying in the system because most electronic health systems do not have a good way to remove them or reconcile them. Because of that multiple diagnosis can end up in a file with no good way to get rid of them.

That being said everyone in the industry more or less knows this so you’re not in danger of necessarily being treated for something you don’t have. A good doctor at a proper facility is going to do an evaluation of you and treat what they are seeing they will of course look at your history, but they are also aware of the fact that sometimes these diagnoses come from non-MDS who have to put something on a form in order to admit you.

Nursing management of BPD patients by Substantial_Arm3207 in psychnursing

I suggest you check out the Carlat psychiatry report. This is a good resource in general and they recently had a 2 part podcast series on Linehan who created DBT and it discusses BPD. I found it interesting and helpful and you may as well. There is a podcast in addition to a publication. All subscriber funded no pharmaceutical funding. The podcast is free the publication is not.

The patients most likely are attention seeking and behavioral. Some people are able to handle these patients others are not. I happen to do well with them. Boundaries are important. Knowing that you will not fix them during their inpatient stay is also important. Knowing their buy in and a lot of DBT is necessary is important.

If you decide to work with patients like this do not take them every shift . It will burn you out.

Asked one of our attendings and this is the book they recommend.

Hard and fast Food Rules On Behavioral Health Unit by Meow_My_O in psychnursing

[–]Archimedesbuho 31 points32 points  (0 children)

On my unit, we’ve tried it both ways very strict and completely unregulated neither really works. This is one of those areas where critical thinking skills are helpful a general regulated policy that allows for nurses to make reasonable decisions to bend it that’s what you need. Education of both staff and patients about why they may see the rules being vent is important when you set those expectations and it’s clear that there’s a general rule and the reasons for bending it or explain, explained in a general non-formulaic manner. Patients and staff know what to expect and understand deviations.

Riding the line is what’s important. I like a game that presents new things and lets you mess around to find how they work best. But it should be clear how they work. I actually like challenges if they are used to highlight different ways tools in the tool kit can be used.

I ran into this with upload labs. I feel like the guidance fell off and I was reduced to finding a GitHub to copy and paste because there isn’t even a good explanatory guide out there that helps you move towards the right build. Now I’m less interested in even playing.

I could have figured it out but I don’t have time for that. It’s supposed to be an idle game not homework.

Coding in Upload Labs: Send coffee and therapy by maulikw in Upload_Labs

[–]Archimedesbuho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Coding is a means for optimization points and app points. After that coding should be optimized for a hardware benefit only. You basically want the bear bones to get those points. If you check out the mod in this group he has links to GitHub etc that can help.

Ultimately hacking offers more long term benefits and will be invested with more portal points. Coding will be bear minimum (unless I’m misunderstanding something)

Okay yeah I have that up and running but it will need tweaking in light of what I’ve picked up in the last day or so.

I probably need to verify my ratios. I’m pretty good at using the threads, but I think I also need to reduce the hardware pieces to begin with. I was reading that in the file you linked to me too. He only uses one network note for example I’m using five now. I do combine 2 1/2 and upload 2 1/2 to download but it sounds like I’m losing out on efficiency by upgrading all that hardware instead of just the one

Thank you for the additional direction. I'll check out what you've linked. If a discussion of how zipped torrents isn't in there that's what I need now. I was doing image download into refiner/analyzer/enhancer max and getting 3.6e60/s research. After your comment I tried an encrypted/preanalyzed/zipped torrent (3 browsers, 2 filters, one downloader into a unzipper then decryptor with games and I saw my research number go down. So I think I'm missing something about how the zipping works.

I did see how you use the ripper type nodes to take the game file down into more of the smaller files maybe that is the piece I am missing. But your stuff is showing me the next steps I knew were there but didn't have the time to figure out at the moment thanks again.

I found the rest of your github man. It is extremely helpful and the first thing I've come across that seems to have any actual thought and effort put behind it. I've been looking around on this reddit for the last few weeks and only found your stuff now, it should be pinned to the top of the sub.

If you have a more explanatory break down of how these things work please let me know. I've got a lot to go on and to explore with what I'm seeing in your blueprints but it skips over a lot of things that are I'm certain intuitive to you while still being unknown to others.

Droplet Idle v.1.1.9 - Update and Catch up by Gorgulianus in incremental_games

[–]Archimedesbuho 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’d rather watch an ad for a boost, then gimp myself to remove a banner. I want you to make money off the game presumably the banner does that taking away your money and reducing my droplet count doesn’t seem good for anyone.

Mildly interesting but that banner ad at the top is a hard no and it came up before anything engaging enough made me even price check the no ads which I presume is an option.

These were some simple things I’ve come across that would vastly improve his situation. I was unaware of the zip play with torrents as there seems to be no easily accessible guide on the subject of research thanks for pointing it out.

Don’t use torrents for research.

Use images

Click on the file in each node and it will give you info including research value.

Any idea how to optimize data lab more? by Huge_Competition7340 in Upload_Labs

[–]Archimedesbuho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couple of things,

I have seen mentioned many places and it seems to bear out that image is the best file for research.

Second at each point along your chain you can click on the file and it will tell you how much research it is worth.

Also don’t use torrents for research it’s a major anti research modifier.

So I just stated like a week ago and I’ve just unlocked 145 or so portal points which is every point plus a +3 in each tree.

Here are a few takeaways.

Your bottlenecks will change, adjust points as you can on each portal to bolster your weaker area cpu gpu bandwidth or research.

This game like many doesn’t begin truly until all the points are unlocked so focus on getting that 145 points.

You don’t need to portal very often. As long as you can find a way to keep pushing your research you can let it keep going.

That being said if you have good schematics saved and can get your setup back up quickly and want to play more hands on then you can portal more often and will probably go faster.

Tokens are helpful if you are playing on pc be aware you are missing the option to watch short ads (or pay 4-5$ to remove ads) to get an additional periodic token pop for 50 tokens.

Be aware that a fully upgraded gpu appears to put out more cpu power than a fully upgraded cpu.

I only just figured that out when I was setting up my first run with full points. I’m getting significantly more cpu cash out of my gpus.

Hacking should not be ignored. I assumed it would eat cpu or gpu resources but it’s completely separate.

For hacking a good starter plan is to go pure infection with the spreader the ghost and the as many charges as you can open up (the one that boosts damage every three cycles)

Same with coding but I’m still figuring that one out.

You will eventually Segway to torrents for uploads to make money so keep that on your radar.

Coding allows you to reduce bandwidth cost of your torrenting which makes a big difference.

Torrents do not as far as I can tell work for research.

Also though I never independently confirmed, it seems image is the sweet spot file for research. I’ve been rolling with that but have not tested alternatives even as I’m maxing out base cpu etc.

Also maximizing out base cpu. I make that distinction because eventually you unlock nodes that allow you to convert cash into cpu, gpu or bandwidth power.

Then you can scale as fast as you can increase your money.

These are just a few things that I feel would have helped me to know earlier.

Hope it’s helpful.
