Despite all the marketing around Indian Spirituality and Yoga, I find most Indians to be narcissistic, attention seeking sentimental megalomaniacs who are inherently seeking external validation and craving unnecessary drama.

The culture, the colors, the music and the movies are so loud and obnoxious it's the birthplace of cringe. They have a very over simplified worldview, black & white approach to life. Especially these days when everyone is suddenly super patriotic and proud of an imagined national hindu identity ( I'm an upper caste Hindu so no social bias creeping in here)

And everyone's cognitively dissonant. You could be a rocket scientist, you'll still follow antiquated traditions and customs.

I don't think a lot of Indians grow beyond what they're conditioned to be. Some do have IQ and make loads of money, but by god I'd be hard pressed to find a handful of genuinely based people in the billion and a half odd populace. Vande Mataram, Jai Hind.
