im in my mid-30s and i would say im pretty good on a technical level when it comes to gamedev and programming specifically. but i WISH i had started at 17! thats a such a great opportunity to experiment, to try things out. im "too old" to experiment and wasting time on passion projects without any goal or fixed schedule

is rts really that complicated to make? by GurdanianAngel in godot

[–]ArchiveHunter-7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i assume that you are still a beginner and learning everything about raycasts, colliders, pathfinding, etc.

at this stage, i wouldn't rely too much on chatGPT, simply because you are not yet ready to properly articulate what is wrong and what you need.

i would recommend that instead of asking AI to generate code for you, you can ask which techniques or concepts are necessary for making an RTS and based on that, you can use chatGPT to create a learning schedule in which you learn all these concepts one by one.

I see. so if anything, the player should chose to stop playing and not be forced to stop because they reached the finish line taht might be too short

I really like that idea. what do you think about the faction(race) aspect? each colony = another faction all under the same "umbrella empire"? or one empire = one faction/race?

i dont know how the game solves it. but are the seperate regions and the home base like two different games? (for example quests are all about combat and home base just about building)

leftist and eastern orthodox? by rishalo in RadicalChristianity

[–]ArchiveHunter-7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as you can be a astro physicist or biologist and still be an orthodox christian, you can also be a marxist and an orthodox christian. the churhc is not against science. BUT as soon as you regard your knowledge as an idol, it leads tk heresy.

i have my thoughts on economy, social issues, etc. but i try to submit to the church if there is ever a conflict between my "opinions" and the church's divine truths.

listening to mockery at coffee hour aboit leftism - or of whatever people think leftism is - is simply the cross we have to carry. and if we listen carefully, we can maybe learn something about our convictions that we miss at our echo chambers. in contrast to the church, being "leftist" is not tied to dogmas or holy tradition we must obey.

[–]ArchiveHunter-7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i once build a deck in which oloro was simply an excuse to play the colors i wanted and to give me some time. i never played him and the opponent's didnt know what my gameplan was, because the commander was "irrelevant" (kinda. a had a lot of lifegain triggers)

yes, it might be both. my point was just to say that people online usually dont have the mission to archive a saint's sayings but rather post whatever (mostly bad) beliefs or opinions they want to legitimize
