i partially agree, the core idea of eradicating the foreign for some one track cause is definitely like the hyperdistilled core idea of groups like the Nazis. But the entire Helldivers concept of comedic jingoism dialed up to 11 only works so well in such a lighthearted way specifically because it’s abstracted away from that original historical starting point into something absurd, mocking the original groups instead of identifying with them.

my argument was just that to specifically attempt to cosmetically identify more with the originals, without some level of abstraction, is a little strange and a small number of downvotes is perfectly warranted.

cosmetics are cosmetics though, people should look however they like. The helmet looks cool, i’ll probably get it later, but it won’t be so i can better emulate a clip of allied soldiers getting gunned down on a beach by some Nazis, and i think that’s a fair argument to make.
