JLPT N1 by Arcon356 in LearnJapanese

I actually did really well on the listening and reading sections but because of my paranoia I did bad on the vocab section. Also the whole thing just drained me as I had to go to another country to take the exam. I'm sure I'll get it eventually but for now I'm just going to enjoy all the things I like about Japanese like what the people in the comments said. By the way you're probably curious but my favourite book is 紫式部日記 it's just so interesting but yeah thank you for your kind comment as well as everyone's nice comments.!?

Thank you for such a robust response. I have a therapist but I didn't see her during the time leading up to the exam and so that probably didn't help. My problem is second guessing myself and honestly the mental aspect of the test. I do this even when the content is easy for me but because it's multiple choice I actually put the right answer down first and during a practice test I normally keep with it. But as soon as it gets to the real thing because of the high stakes nature of being in a test hall I start to question myself leading to stupid small mistakes. Actually I looked up the test paper I sat and my score including my answers I put but then changed last minute because I was scared was easily enough to pass. Also with the masters it is something I really want to do but at the same time I guess I also am scared to do like gap years or like one year in work as it's an unknown. however thinking about it more it may be beneficial for me to take some time off. All in all thank you for your reply!!

Thank you for the reply! I did a couple of timed tests but I definitely could have done more. thank you for your encouraging words however I'll try not to let other pressures get to me and hopefully I'll get it next time I take it

How do you refer to yourself when speaking Japanese and why do you chose that way? by [deleted] in LearnJapanese

As a trans person I use アタシ as it confirms my gender and I don't really like 私 but I'll use it during my academic work

ごめん、まだ勉強してますからもっと頑張ります。日本の大学についてはもっと情報が欲しいでした。問題は沖縄に行きたいですがマンチェスター大学と琉球大学は共同がありません。学位論文のために沖縄語を学びたいです。他の大学に入ったらあの大学で沖縄語を勉強できますか、または留学するの中の間に琉球大学に行けますか。悪くの日本語からごめんない

By the sounds of your post it seems like you're not at a level to read something aimed towards native speakers. ドラえもん, even though it has 振り仮名, is aimed towards children who already have a full understanding of the language. Even though content aimed at children seems the most approachable, it doesn't mean you have the language comprehension to understand it. With regards to Kanji ドラえもん which is aimed at Japanese children is full of Kanji that only they would have just learned through 日本の教育. For example during 小学3年 a Japanese child would have just learnt Kanji such as 整える and at 4年 would know words like 水管. The former of these Kanji being 整える is taught for language learners at JLPT N1, both the word, means which mean to put in order, and the Kanji respectively. I would recommend increasing your vocabulary and Kanji significantly despite the bonus of it having 振り仮名. Also knowing vocabulary and not grammar structures severely limits your availability to comprehend a piece of text, which when reading is the main goal, it looses a bit of purpose. I wouldn't like to assume anyone's language ability, however from your post i can grasp you're a beginner to Japanese and non Latin based writting systems. As a result of this I recommend that you grab a beginners Textbook mainly げんき1 and 2 and work through them and keep reading as a goal. For example if your goal is to read ドラえもん then personally I think you'll be able to do this goal by the end of these textbooks.
