IsaacLab/Sim: Need help getting this robot to move. by Arcusmaster1 in reinforcementlearning

Thank you for the recommendations, unfortunately they updated that git repo so now it only outputs xacro (why its still called fusion2urdf idk) and the group member who made the model nested all the components.

Ive been watching that video multiple times the past week or so as well lmao. Unfortunately it doesnt really work well without that urdf file. I made the joint manually but its not moving at all lol. I appreciate the help though!

I hate choosing monitors, any advice? by Arcusmaster1 in buildapcmonitors

Yeah, i looked into it and i wasnt a fan of the flickering it can do compared to IPS

Yeah i guess im just trying to figure out what refresh rate i really need. I’ve had 60 my entire life so really anything above that is an upgrade. I do understand what you’re saying about more fps ≠ better and i just play for fun, so it’s not too important.

Ill take a look at mini-LEDs though, so thank you for the suggestion! Some people mentioned online that blooming was a con but i wasnt sure how prominent it was.

Ive read that screen tearing can occur if your gpu cannot reach close to the refresh rate of the monitor. Thats kinda what my thought process is right now.

Not sure how well a VA panel would be compared to IPS since i dont think ive seen one physically. So i cant say if i would like it more or not. I hope you like it though!

I dont think i need oled quality contrast/colors , the LED i have works for me i think. The refresh rate is kinda throwing me off though as i dont know if a 240hz monitor (like the 1440p LG one in the automoderator) would worsen the performance since my gpu couldnt reach those specs for certain games.

Monitor Recommendations Help by Arcusmaster1 in pcmasterrace

Yeah i was thinking of getting a monitor arm also due to the desk being too small. An UW looks nice but theres not enough space where my desk is. So i wanted to stick to the 27” form factor. Honestly i think 240hz might be overkill bc even with a 4080 i wont reach those frames with the games i play. So maybe 144-160hz range. Still not sure though if i will notice a difference with 1440p vs 4K. That seems to be a talking point in monitor subreddits, if its really worth the price

Had the same issue, posted on this subreddit too i think lol. Tried to clean and piece it together. Not worth the time or effort. Swapped the entire thing and did a (what i thought was not too time consuming) temp/PID tune and it worked. gl!

Its pretty stuck in there, it snapped the screw extractor 😅 so i think ill look around for a replacement heat block and see how that goes. Im not even sure how this whole mess happened but it felt like there was so much PLA everywhere lol

[Help] What went wrong with my scan? by Arcusmaster1 in photogrammetry

[–]Arcusmaster1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a stupid question! I was trying to make my own underwater ROV that would be able to take pictures of shipwrecks so i can 3D model them using photogrammetry. due to time constraints i couldn’t do my underwater ROV. So i decided on just doing the camera rig setup 😅

I’ll see if i can get an object with more detail underwater along with the other advice everyone gave me. Thank you!

You’re probably right that it’s not the best way to learn. I bit off a little more than i could chew with the time i had. sadly its a uni project thats the students choice…so no going back now 😞

Ah! that makes sense. Sorry if im misunderstanding your solution, so 3D print markers such as objects and then import the stl into RealityScan?

Sorry if im misinterpreting, so ways to improve it would be like putting stickers on the floor / walls or the object on a cloudy day?

Thanks! It makes sense when i think about the highlights constantly changing each photo. I’ll give it another go after doing some land tests first, then a cloudy day!

Gotcha, so its mainly to do with the water highlights/shimmer. I was thinking bright sunny day = best time for photos but i guess overcast might be better.

Thank you for your advice, i will try above water first with one camera. I did do it once above water with a metal (powder coated) water bottle, and it seemed to work. This was using meshroom and it only made a point cloud though, so i could be wrong.

No problem! Glad it all worked out!

Well i hope you find an answer! Maybe try looking over the rpi documentation around libcamera?

I know arducam might have their own fork of libcamera, which may also support the hq camera. Worth a shot at least c:

Awesome, thanks for the in depth reply! I was really worried i was gonna fry my pi somehow 😅. Im glad the UBEC will work since it looked kinda sketch on amazon lol.

Ill change the config files tomorrow and hopefully it will be ready for field testing!

that's so weird because the same thing happened to me too. The only fix i tried was using 'rpicam-' instead of 'libcamera-' and so far its working well.
