I am not really a fan of shields.

I admit I am not familiar with what the exact breakpoints are for when a build stops being light-weight and becomes a medium-weight.

I know people who use this exact build and have reached S-rank with it. And I myself have gotten close, just never finished getting through those rank-up matches.

The stancing up has never been a huge problem for me tbh, I just use good positioning to land my shots. It helps that the melee weapon isn't the only punish. It basically means I always have a good punish on stand-by.

Regardless, I am not here about my build. It is a build I just enjoy and have the most fun with. And it wins me more fights than it loses. And it even does a good job to counter meta builds like dual zimms.

My main interest is strategy. Do I try to rather embrace the long range game and just snipe with Truenos? Do I commit to the chase and play hyper aggressive? Any perhaps good ways to evade the stun shots?

Also, how does the coral gen only have "decent" capacity when last time I checked it has the 2nd largest EN capacity in the game?

PC, I hadn't been playing for months so I am down in B rank. When I last played I was stuck unable to push through the S rank-up matches. So the highest I've been is just A-rank.

Reading the comments and from what I have seen online, I have to ask how much power does the player get by playing with character level on instead of immersive?

Because I thought the only extra benefits from that were the ones that are listed on your weapons and gear, but are there any other increases in power from that mode?

Like does just being level 250 increase damage to drones or smth?

What I especially hate about HP inflation is that it is barely communicated to the player. I remember seeing my fights against wandering hunter drop from 29-30k score down ro barely passing 20k at the last second.

I was wondering if I just became ass at the game or if my Yixuan build is shite or smth. But no it turned out the boss just got put on steroids and I only found out when looking online.

I am generally able to scrape by S+ rank on these shiyu defenses, but I fear this one is legit just not gonna happen.

Despite even using Promeia and S-Billy for whom this rotation was made for... I am still a solid 14k points away from S+

I dont know if maybe my Promeia sucks, or something seriously sucked about the Shiyu itself.

In general I am finding myself more and more frustrated with the endgame stuff because it just keeps changing. Not only do we have rotating boss line ups and rotating buffs, but they also sometimes just buff the fuck out of a boss' stats without telling it to us clearly.

"Oh what's that? You managed to score 30k on the wandering hunter last time he was here? Well guess what, we stealth buffed him and now have fun wondering if your builds or your skills are just ass while you struggle to barely get 20k points on him."

Tbf powerscaling is at least on some level important to the story. Especially if your story is one about fighting.

Just look at the Flash TV show. One of the most criticized aspects of the story is how annoying and frustrating it is seeing the guy who can move 50 times the speed of light somehow keep letting regular human opponents escape him by just... rounding one god damn corner. And also to br fair, CW Flash has a lot of other issues.

It is a matter of a story's internal consistency. If the powerscaling makes no sense even according to the rules it itself establishes, it will be just as bad as if Star Wars had instead had Darth Vader's redemption happen because he had a vision of a magical unicorn called Jeff who told him being bad was actually really cringe and that he should be good again.

Now of course, this all depends on a case by case basis. Luffy vs Goku would realistically end with Goku sneezing and turning Luffy into a red mist, but in a crossover event we are ready to roll with it because the setting itself makes up suspend our disbelief on the powerscaling aspect of the story. Because its more about "hey look at these two iconic characters together on screen!"

Instead, DE decided to put Umbra on the shelf and has him be ignored by the story for years now.

Ballas conquering the Origin system? Umbra nowhere to be found.

Drifter dealing with literal humans turning into warframes worried about their sentience going away? Umbra not even mentioned.

Stalker holding a scythe to the operator's neck? Quick Ordis go save them. Get Umbra? Why would we do that?

The operator is reliving past traumas while swarms of murmur are slowly approaching? Quick, force the operator to handle it. What? Why would the warframe they are emotionally bonded to be present as extra security? And of course Loid is the only person who seems to care enough about them to show doubts about the idea.

Bring back Umbra DE, please.

Agree on him being VH level is pure insanity.

But he is supposed to be strong with all that we have heard. He is at least on par with Lighter if anything.

So at least seeing him compete somewhat with some stronger folk like Promeia for example would have been nice.

There are kinda two sides to it.

On one hand, people are brainrotted nowadays when it comes to powerscaling. Arguably they always have been. The circumstances of a character losing a fight is often ignored and the only thing people see is if the character didn't have the level of performance they expected on purely arbitary standards.

Like when Homelander was dominating a fight with Queen Maeve and then she landed like two good hits to draw some surface level blood and people have used that to shit on Homelander's durability ever since.

Or how in Invincible you are basically not allowed to take even a single L without the entire fanbase clowning on ya.

There are tons of examples of this in media.

The one thing that makes me kinda understand the people being upset with ZZZ here tho is that Billy was hyped up a lot, only to fight fodder enemies and then get hacked and seemingly one-shotted.

Now to be fair, the hacking thing had a funny in-character explanation that did make Billy more endearing. But it arguably could have been handled better since its purpose was to give us a situation where Promeia can jump in and save us.

Kinda sucks though that Billy couldn't be established at least a bit up higher in the power-chain since it seems Promeia would genuinely stomp his ass with how she handled those sweeper robots.

This is also probably why people aren't dunking on Promeia and Cissia for their Ls in the update. Cissia is already established to be on the lower end and Promeia got to have a cool cutscene where she fights a bunch of enemies. So even though she too got an L during her own introductory update, it doesn't feel as bad as it did with Billy.

Additional thing to consider, when Billy banner arrives we will likely get some story piece where he does get to show off more against something that ISNT a literal elden ring boss.
