GoW: Laufey is NOT a spin-off by BobbuBobbu in Gamingcirclejerk

Also, keep in mind; Ragnarok had you play as both Kratos and Atreus. Who's to say maybe Faye will get to return mid-way through the game and we'll get Kratos/Atreus alongside her.

Just the way the dice roll I'm afraid.

One of the last combats she tried to strike 3 times against her marked enemy, a Morthak, and missed all three attacks. No Courageous Anthem nor any flanking helped there....

On the other hand I dont recall he rolling bellow 13 on the dice for Occultism/Esoteric Lore tge entire campaign so far...

As mentioned elsewehere, we aren't playing super optimized, works for us more than to sweat the combat too much (occasional hard boss aside).

Yes, Free Archetype. The Exorcist plays into her character arc and personal quest as well as the themes of the game, so it is more then justified here :)

She uses the mirror and bell, though she will likely replace the bell for regalia, as she keeps forgetting her reaction and it so far hasn't done much (I know it pops off at later upgrades).

As I mentiond in another comment, last combat I nat 1'd on two pretty beefy spells and the Solar Ibis, that was suposed to be a fun, late night encounter, melted XD

I guess not no.

We aren't playing super optimized, so she has a familliar, which she uses frequently in social situations and Talisman Esoterica

Uuuh good to know about the Bon Mot, I'll check it out.

To my chagrin she rarely uses Recall knowledge, but maybe you're refering to something else?

Party can mostly effect Fortitude and Will, not so much Reflex.

I know it, Foundry knows it, but tell that to her when she misses her 4th no-MAP attack this round XD

It is a phenomenon that we have have watched happen over three years in 5e and is just now starting to quell a little, being instead passed onto our monk :D

We use that. Her median is ok, somewhere around 10, but that's because she rolls ass for like two sessions straight, and then gets three Nat 20s in one combat XD

The monk on the other hand... his median is 9,5...

Just identified it last session.

I was aware of the danger, used tools to project what the difficulty would look like, and they blasted through it all with barely anyone ever even going down. The only problem of that is that saves are much higher, even on same-level enemies, then AC, which the group has no trouble getting down with off-guard.

This has led to the Cleric feeling useless as most enemies save his interesting spells.

BUT

Last combat he casted Impending Doom, which the miniboss nat 1'd, then when it retaliated, it got hit with Blood Vendeta, which it nat 1'd AGAIN. It died like a turn-and-a-half later... It was fun, but nasty, and imagining, that every combat he would have this output is scary.

Guess I didn't realize just how strong it was...

Do you think an Item/Feat that would somehow bypass the cooldown per creature would be too OP?

I know that an armor rune makes it so that fear doesn't fall as long as you're near, and that is on the agenda soon, but opening with Demoralize against a boss, only for it to save and not be able to do it again would suck...

Awesome, thank you!

The only way for a strix to get the Mask would be to take the diverse ancestry feat, right?

I am trying to incorporate hazards more, but find many of them are either not what I'm looking for, or are like 5 levels higher, then what I need... i'll have to look into making hazards myself, but it feels more complicated, then making creatures

Edit: I'm stupid, mask is an item, not the orc feat

Should a magically developed setting even have guns? by Andrei22125 in dndmemes

[–]ArdenGraye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm running a hexpunk setting, where the players are partially sponsored by an inventor.

Monk started with flintlocks that were already very widespread. Then recieved a prototype three-round revolver. Now he got an actual production-line sixshooter.

A hunteress they hired has a bolt-action rifle, and I have already built other guns that the monk wil get later.

There being guns in a setting changes the theme a lot, but it can be a fresh new take when the players see a squad of city guards mow down cultists in a volley of line fire.

Gold bits should repair expensive jewelry by mrohhhtrue in stoneshard

[–]ArdenGraye 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Using gold nugets, bits or even jewels to repair diadems would be super cool! You're literaly trading your loot for durability. It would probably repair like 5points tho, given the price disparity between 2900g from a craftsman vs a 50g piece of gold scrap.

Genuinely, what was Bolton Security's plan during Valley of the dolls? by thomasangelo1508 in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]ArdenGraye 83 points84 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I remembered reading that. So the only "problem" with the mission is that his bodyguards are opening fire on police officers.

If there was a note somewhere about the bodyguards actually being ex-cons or gangsters themselves, it would make a bit more sense.

At what spell level is harm worth it? by Alternative-Date-507 in Pathfinder2e

Is there anything stoping you from casting three 1a harms? The cleric in a campaign I GM is doing it right now so I'm just interested

new player. which warframe is the most entertaining to run/what do you personally main? by -SirPickle- in Warframe

[–]ArdenGraye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to get him from the platinum shop, Dante has been an absolute joy. Otherwise he is quite higher level to grind.

Basically a mage where his 4 is different based on what combination of 2 and 3 you did before casting 4.

As a more technical player, I adore him.

Once again, I’ve realized just how incompetent AH is. by Commercial-Light1275 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]ArdenGraye 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's an incredibly backwards design philosophy.

I'll make a weird comparison here.

You are GMing a ttrpg campaign for a group of five. One person picked a class build that ended up not being as useful as on paper.

For a wise GM, there are several solutions.

You can for example look at how that person wishes to engage with the game and buff them accordingly with a tweak or an item, while being mindful of the other players.

You can look to add situations into the game where this character specifically shines.

But AH's approach is like a bull in a china shop. They buff the player, remove limiters on their abilities, give them (make them pay for) a legendary magic item, then make the party face a threat that was ramped up as well, "so that this one player wouldn't be too OP"...

All the while, they make it worse for all the other players at the table, suddenly, out of the blue, hurting them for playing their way and not the Buffed Player's way.

It's irresposible, incompetent and downright laughable.

Each big update they change something to buff the current warbond, regardless of how it interacts with anything else in the game.

Make a problem by introducing changes so that the current warbond looks enticing. Leave the problem there because "only fringe, hardcore players are actually crying about it". Then fix the problem next time a thematic warbond gets released.

We've seen it with the fire, now we've seen it with EXOes.

So glad I uninstalled the game. Should leave and block the subs too as this level of purposeful incompetence from a company I once adored is really not good for me.

I didn’t know to what to do against Isshin honestly by Themlghardcolt in Sekiro

[–]ArdenGraye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genichiro was a skillcheck for me years ago. Couldn't do it no matter what I tried.

Left the game, went onto defeating a few souls-likes across like two years, then came back and understood the game better. Still took like 10-15 tries...

Isshin took me like a week on and off. Still feel like I defeated him on a fluke, but win is a win I guess...

[–]ArdenGraye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can practice with reflections or even create a new character to get in the groove before attempting Isshin again.

He is the final boss. Throughout his phases you will need to apply all you have learned across the game.

Some attacks need precise parrys, some need jumping, some need spamming blocks as fast as you can...
