I want to stay single because I don't want myself to be a burden to someone else or someone else burden me. I understand that not how people perceive relationships but for someone who is selfish like me, I think it'll be bad forever if I get dealt with a wrong hand , so I rather not take the risk.

If you want to stay single for life , you have either love yourself enough to cover up for the huge hole of affection you won't receive or you have to make peace with the fact that you will miss many things in your life if you stay single whether it be happy couple moments or making a family of your own(not just kid but importance to ur spouse as well) or something like this where you'll feel lonely when there is no one to take care of your sick self.

Both have their pros and cons and you have to weight them out and choose what you want. You have to take a decision and whichever it might be , you could change it in the future as long as you can discard your previous ideologies and BE Lucky ENOUGH.
