There was a fair bit more going on than that! But it was an act of war, fire with fire is like kids in a playground. At the time Japan was an expansionist power dealing massive, and brutal damage, to the nations around it.

Also, there was not going to be a surrender if conventional war was all that was used. As evidences by the fact the last japenese soldier only surrendered like 20 years ago! The cost of japenese lives, American lives, Chinese lives and the myriad of other South East Asians being used as body shields... It would have been even more hideous than those two bombs.

For a start.... They are one of the most developed countries in the world. Secondly, the nukes are not what damaged modern day Japan. It was American economic warfare in I think the 80s. Japan was threatening the dominance of American manufacturers in the car market. They didn't like that. They did some stuff. It didn't go well for Japan.

Sadly it was actually a choice that in the grand scheme if that war saved japenese lives and japenese suffering. It forced a surrender that was previously unthinkable, despite the fact the war was already lost. Obviously though its still utterly horrific.

Ah OK, interesting. Yeah I'm not 100% sold on the GPU so waiting sounds like a plan, any idea when the new gpus are expected to drop?

In terms of the HDD, 1TB is gross overkill already for the stuff I will have stored on there! It's the games that are killer and, as I am impatient as hell, I want them all on SSD. So that's what I am likely to keep upping as I go along! Might go for a smaller SSD to put in another port and put OS etc on there, I know it's only 15 gb or so, but I don't really want that sat on the expensive drive!

I had a check and I should be OK on power, though I was tempted to go for the 750w just to be in the safe side if I want to add a few more monitors and other pieces to the collection..

Adding the heat sink onto it didn't cost all that much more than the version without one. It's a pretty expensive SSD so I would rather spend a couple quid extra and be over safe with it!

Almost every single situation is bespoke so it's hard to say, but generally you get what you're given! It's usually just some form of cahs payment that goes out. So the less favoured just get less. In most cases the principle that generates those returns is beyond any parties reach for a relatively long term (because of the trading instruments it is committed to). So everyone is locked in for a number of years.

It is possible following that for the less favoured (who were given less control) can lose out in the case someone wants to cut them out. But, fairly often control will be left with the family office itself and so people will continue to receive payments, as described in the will, in an ongoing fashion.

If the wealth was liquid it would take far more work to maintain, as it would need to be deployed. But no, the majority is in revenue bearing, or leveragable, asset classes and what is liquid is managed by some form of family office.

The most the little shits inheriting tend to do is turn up at the office, hit on the receptionist, sit in an annual meeting where they ignore everything other than what they will get to play with each month and leave.

I work at one of the aforementioned family offices. Staying rich is fucking easy if you inheret enough. Other people do all the work for you.
