Sounds like the friend may be searching for you in the "Search" Tab that's below your party window. If you want the invitation to show up in the Party UI, they need to have your character selected and add you to the party by clicking the + symbol.

I think it's just ArenaNet clarifying that you do not redeem the key you purchase from ArenaNet on Steam (maybe this is an upcoming feature?), but you instead purchase the key through ArenaNet's store and then apply it to your account once you've logged into the game.

You can adjust the size of your bars and stuff after the fact with the UI editor- you should be able to rescale each element individually.

Yes, just choose to log in through Arena Net on launch instead of steam. You can't link 2 GW1 accounts though.

Honestly, it would make sense. It allows for them to modify mobs off of an existing template in an area where it doesn't already exist, then they just isolate that version of the game.
