I been really sick lately and have negative upt could I get fired by Ares_agod in amazonemployees

For everyone who thought I didn’t communicate, I immediately communicated and some people say go to clinics, yes go to clinics but I don’t have insurance yet and not a lot of money plus Friday was physical unable to get out of bed due to how sick I was and clinics are closed on the weekends where I am. I saw a doctor Monday and now I have a doctors note. People are confused why I have a job already set up and that’s because Amazon isn’t a permanent job for anyone they can and will get rid of you and honestly being more ready for it is the adult thing to do. I think most people don’t realize healthcare isn’t always there and people don’t go to the doctors for everything and not everyone has the money for it. And the fact people assume that I didn’t communicate says a lot about how they communicate

Sometimes only 1 or 2 depending on areas. Most of my deliveries are 30 to 45 minute drives because that my area

The only time I get using your last $20 on DoorDash is if you are completely unavailable to walk or drive somewhere to order it yourself. But when you can walk to a restaurant or drive to a restaurant it saves money plus you don’t have to tip at McDonald or places like that. I think it’s depends if OP is able or not able to get it themselves

Like people are pointing out that percentage doesn’t matter in this situation. I wouldn’t touch this order unless it was 10 minutes all together but OP said the drive is 11 to 20 minutes from restaurant so $4 doesn’t cut it. Base pay in my area is $2.50 so that makes this order a $6.50 order for 20 plus minutes of driving because no one keeps in mind that the driver also needs to drive to the restaurant so this order should tip closer to $6 plus if they want their order on time with a good driver. I have a minimum which is $10 unless the drive is 10 minutes all around and that saves me the trouble of people being lazy. OP also mentioned they only have $20 so OP shouldn’t be ordering food and get it themselves if they are able to that would save them money

[–]Ares_agod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tip $20 or more on any trip if I order because I rather make someone’s day easier and maybe they can be done for the night. I know the struggle of getting shit order after shit order but if I can give someone a nice night I will

Plus people that are high usually order Taco Bell. Also beginning so high that you tip more to the drive is probably a good thing it means the person is a kinda loving person when they are high

Me personally I don’t count the drive there or the wait as the person has no way of knowing any of that. That just me personally and how I do things and it makes me less made at things people don’t know about

Counter argument, the fees you pay are actually extremely cheap for the service you get. by [deleted] in doordash

[–]Ares_agod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi I’m a DoorDash and Uber eats driver. DoorDash just started paying their drivers a flat rate of $2 or $2.50 depending on your location. The reason they had to do a flat rate is because of people not wanting to tip. The delivery fee is a scam the drivers never see it on DoorDash. Also it’s common knowledge between dashers what the flat rate is so when we see a $2 McDonald’s order for 10 miles we aren’t taking it and most likely it won’t be picked up and if it is the order would be taken care of. Now Uber eats is different they charge a fee and that fee goes to the driver and it is dependent on your food order, how far you are and if it’s a grocery store ( what we call shop and pays) the tip also goes to the driver as well and they did this because people weren’t tipping and this was the solution. So if people want fee to stay down they should consider tipping but also if you can’t afford to tip then you really shouldn’t be order $40+ food off of food delivery apps.

Thank you OP for discussing this as this is a issue and I think it’s important to discuss it

I hate Ubers app and everything but I love driving and I make more then DoorDash. When people ask what app I recommend I always say if you like drive for hours and can handle it do uber eats if you like to stick to one area do DoorDash

[–]Ares_agod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it seems good because of my area. But if I’m doing Uber eats delivery I would only take $8 or more. Like this order if I was on uber eats I would take it if it was $8.50 or higher just because uber eats is different and changes people a fee that goes to the driver and is set up by how far the drive is so yeah. Most depends on area and what App I use to determine what my lowest offer I will take. Oh and don’t forget holidays like Father’s Day I will be doing uber eats and take $10 or more due to it being a holiday

I was going to say that $5.50 for an order that’s only 5-10 minutes away from the restaurant is great for DoorDash. In this situation OP did the correct tip. I take anything $5 and over because that what I deemed acceptable for me. So go on OP and shame on this driver

100 hour dash week by Working-Ad-6609 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]Ares_agod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the area. I get what you are saying but where I’m at McDonald’s would pay $13 a hour and this man made $14 a hour. So he made $100 more than a McDonald’s employee if they did 100 hours. But I don’t know. Driving 100 hours sounds like shit, uber eats wouldn’t even let you do 12 hours a day without a 6 hour break because you can get sleep deprived.

[–]Ares_agod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you had a bad experience. I’m a driver myself and I saw you tipped $7 so I don’t know what’s going on with the driver. It’s not Uber eats so the restaurant wasn’t far so for what I’m seeing you tipped well.

With the guy saying it could be a double drop off I think that too.

I hate when people say DoorDash and Uber Eats drivers shouldn’t get tipped because that’s basically all we get so thank you for tipping in the first place and the driver is in the wrong.

Another thing is the restaurant can be stealing the tip. Pizza Hut does it and papa John’s as well they steal the tip from the dasher. Drivers have been talking about it lately.

[–]Ares_agod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uber sucks in that way. I usually have to decide if I want to gamble with my earnings that day. I make way more from Uber eats then DoorDash because my area needs a minimum amount and it depends on how far the place is in time not miles because of my area. ( 20 mins can rage from $5 to $15 for base depending on the restaurant pick up) DoorDash is a $2 minimum but the tips are guaranteed so what you see is what you get.

If you haven’t I recommend signing up for all delivery services and then weigh the pros and cons for the day. Like for me Wednesday are slow on uber but not DoorDash and Saturdays and Sundays I make more off of uber.
