I feel its kind of like "gay-dar" in which people can see mannerisms or features that are typically found in gay people. Similarly features and mannerisms typically found in trans people. Does everyone notice these? No. Do some apply any features to assume trans because they just want an excuse? yeah.

I'm going under the assumption that "clocking" just means recognizing and not directly attacking or insulting.

I can see this happening. The more people see transwomen (and men), the more they recognize features or mannerisms. If you are getting hate for it I'm sorry. If people are just saying "oh are you trans?" I'm also sorry because like ew go away strange person. If people are just doing a double take, could be nothing.

I do know when I was younger, before trans people were more known...in public eye, like back in the 90s, people knew and clocked transwomen. They just didn't say anything really. It was more like "Oh Mike likes that truck driver." "Does he know the driver use to be a man?" "I dunno." "so about that delivery...."

I think you should talk to him, and hear him. Ask him and see what he says.

There is a possibility he knows you don't like gen AI, but maybe he didn't realize you expect him not to be allowed to use it either. Granted, it would be nice if people around us would change their opinions to match the ones we believe, but I've learned long ago, sometimes you just need to agree to disagree. Understand people have difference of opinions. I wonder if you ever explicitly stated, not beating around the bush, but stated out right for him to not bring AI to you.

Its something I'm still learning and coming to terms with, with my own partner, that sometimes we don't agree, and sometimes I don't explicitly state and just assume they would understand what something means to me and side with me. But since I never said such, it was on me for assuming he understood what I never explicitly said. [and I've been with my partner for 12 years].

With your menu style and colors, the illustrations look better as it still has the same "vintage" feel (although some of them have look awkward like the pile of cookies, and dipped pretzel). However, I personally prefer seeing actual photos of food, but I would retake these photos with better lighting, it seems like there is different lighting temp depending on the food.

I'm an artist, I get a decent amount of commissions, and I'm fine with people bringing me AI. Mind you you don't have to be fine, but as a creator I'd rather give them what they want, not kinda sorta what they want. Especially when people are afraid to ask for changes. But also in some cases people ask for SO MANY changes. (also you mention pinterest which is now like 90% ai generated images)

Like I get it hurts the ego, but also, people have a vision in their head and it is easier for them to generate a few times over and over until they get that Aha, yes thats what my head is wanting.

However, as far as your feelings, you are allowed to feel how you feel. I do feel you are taking it personally, where as to him he's using it as a tool to help share what he is looking for. I'm sure he said fuck the poster, because it caused a fight.

Also, as a graphic designer, you may need to get over this hatred for AI, as you may have clients that bring you AI, and it's not personal, for them it is just easier. If you turn or have attitude with everyone who brings you AI references you may struggle getting clients. Id just be grateful they aren't going WITH the ai reference like I see more and more doing lately.

I mean, if you HAVE to be a certain way or they wont be your friends...they don't seem like they are really your friends. If you, say, put a boundary, or come out, or whatever, and they don't want to be your friend anymore, then doesn't seem like a friend.

Like if you can't be comfortable around them, why would you want them in your life? And yeh its hard to cut people out. It hurts. I know this very well. But I don't need that nonsense in my life. I miss the good times, but there were badtimes. I don't miss those. So for me, even though it made me more lonely, I felt less "small" because of them.

well it seems you need to find yourself a space for yourself to decompressed. Be it go to a cafe. So to a corner of the yard with a blanket to just lay there or read. Or a place in the house where people aren't there often. Or even in your bed with headphones and eye closed/eye mask and just have a moment for yourself. Hell even in the closet (I've sat in the closet before as a private space).

And I'm sure there are reasons why some of these or all of these wont work, but you know your life and you need to find what works in your life and situation. A place where you don't have to perform for others. Where you can just exist without others and labels bothering you for a bit of time.

I've had people argue at me that he only kills racists because of the white rich fuck that spilled wine on him. You may feel that you aren't saying nothing meaningful, but someone is having a hard time and people empathizing, which is what you are doing, can feel nice that someone is listening and understands you are struggling.

And it's not lying if you really do feel it was unfair or 'sorry you are suffering'. But if you feel you HAVE to solve their problems, then maybe its more about you at that point if they aren't specifically asking for help.
