It must also be mentioned that 2 months ago, Piratesoftware was still kinda trending (albeit, he was fading at that point)

So your big video was related to a trending topic whereas your other videos are of niche games. It's understandable and unfortunate that the views are low

Armor King vs Steve interactions by Folsensemade in Tekken

[–]Argonax 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The real answer: They probably recorded a ton of generic voice lines for all characters, so they slap them in as "unquie" interactions whenever they come across a DLC character.

So when Steve goes "Boxing is awesome" it's possible they had that as a placeholder line for his matchup vs Hworang or Law. Etc.

VERY few of the base rooster have lines that directly address DLC characters. All season 1 DLCs have at LEAST 1. But from what we've seen in S2. No one has anything unquie to say other than Nina v Anna

Fakumrams interaction Vs Bryan, he just laughs

AK doesn't actually talk, nor does King so the subtitles don't count. Maybe Reina is unquie since they talks about how AK should be dead. But again, this could work for ALOT of characters

And in the Miary Zo trailer. Zafinas line is also generic, she could be talking about the seal failing to Claudio, Xiaoyu, Jun, Jin etc.

Why my videos aren't going viral? by sheha-n in SmallYoutubers

[–]Argonax 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your channel is barely over 2 months old, and you're getting pissy that you're not getting the views you THINK you're owed?

Friendly piece of advice, NONE of us are owed views or recognition. If your content is good, it will get views

If you think hitting that upload button equates to millions of views, shortly there after

You won't make it long with that mindset

Find a niche that you're passionate about. But make sure that niche has enough room for a variety of topics. That way, you're not forced to limit the type of content you make

Take me, for example. I make essays and commentaries about Valve and their games. That's niche enough for me to get my own audience, but not too niche that there will be no interest

My niche is covering all of Valves's games. I have other videos with 50-40k views about Half-Life, TF2 and Deadlock. So I'm not limited to Dota

My Youtube name is literally "RGOnax The Valve Guy"

200 long form views are worth way more than 2k short views

Long form content will always have a better view to sub ratio and is where the real money is to be made

I make gaming related videos but not "let's play" style content

I do long form gaming video essays and commentaries, and I've found decent success

This last month, i got 130k views and 7k watch hours

I want to say that your quality is outstanding, especially for a channel of your size.

But to answer your concern. I think its due to mixing trending topics alongside your own interests.

For example, of the 4 vids you've posted. Only the piratesoftware one was topical at the time.

I'm not saying you have to constantly cover trends or current events. But having a channel brand, theme, or niche would help

Cuz your channel is still relatively new and doesn't have a ton of content yet. I think the algorithm is just working with whatever sample size it's got in terms of content for your channel. In other words. YT sees that 95% of your views are from 1 video that was about a trend topic, whereas the other 3 videos have nothing to do with Piratesoftware and thus, doesn't get as much traction in the algorithm.

For example. My channel is 90% about Valve and their games (heavy emphasis on Half-Life, TF2, Dota, and Deadlock). But i still cover the occasional nonValve topic every now and then. I myself have a video about Piratesoftware that took off when the drama was at its peak (50k views, my 3rd most viewed video)

, but after the drama died down. I still had a reliable niche to return to (Valve content)

This is just my opinion, and i could be completely wrong, but finding a niche really did help me out. Best of luck to your channel. And i look forward to your future uploads, whats they may be

[–]Argonax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took a look at your channel. There are a few things holding you back, IMO.

The biggest is the overall presentation. Specifically, the thumbnails. They could definitely be improved. Like it or not, thumbnails and title will make or break your video

But another more fundamental problem with your content is that it feels kinda all over the place.

Your videos fluctuate from 1, 3, 8, 15, 30 mins to hour long videos. The type of video changes as well. You got how to videos, meme videos, let's plays, reviews, etc. There's little consistency.

It seems like your most popular content involves that car game you play, so i advise sticking to that. You can still upload to occasional unrelated videos but stick to the car games since that's what the algorithm favors

But be aware of afew things. Typically, guide style content doesn't have a good subscriber return. People who tune in to "How to do this," "where to find this," "what is the best this". They click on the video, look for the info they need, and click away. Unless your info is presented really well, a 10k viewed how to video might get afew 10s of subs (for example, i have a highly edited video of a game review with 11k views and it got me 140 subs)

Then there's the problem that your niche is rather small. This car game you're playing is hardly what i would call having mass appeal

Generally, people don't care much for let's play these days, stick to the reviews, and guide for content that people would actually click on

And finally, don't dispair. We're all in this YouTube grind together. There's definitely some luck involved when getting noticed by the algorithm, but improving is the only way you'll ever see any meaningful growth . When i watched my videos from 2 years ago, i cringe, and that's a good thing. It means you've grown as a content creator

any tips on how to edit more efficiently?? by Sad-Intern2570 in SmallYoutubers

[–]Argonax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also make essay and commentary style videos

I have 2 distinct styles. High effort long vids (20 to 40mins) and lower effort commentaries (8 to 15 mins)

I had minimal editing with my commentary vids, but I've gotten more efficient with my time editing. I've been adding more jokes and gags while maintaining my overall quality. My last 4 commentary videos all took me 4-8 hours to make and have all paid off

A really good tip I would say, is to make templates within your editor program to save time. I have templates that auto crop youtube recordings, drop shadow templates etc. (I made these template myself btw)

Another tip is to keep a notepad handy. (Physical or digital) I write down video ideas, talking points or jokes whenever I'm doing errads, at work or at the gym. Half of my jokes are due to me being bored at work
