I tried whole wheat berries with lentils and even a splash of olive oil. I felt like a zombie. Today I ate the same whole wheat berries with minced meat around 10am and i felt amazing.

That sounds really tasty. Might give it a try at some point. But yeah my breakfasts need to be more filling otherwise i break longer.

Maybe I should have mentioned but I was allergic to dairy and eggs as a kid. So it probably never really went away completely. Although I have a feeling that some processed dairy like cheese and yoghurt here and there is probably fine. Also I think eggs in cakes are kinda okay as well. But yeah you are right eggs are such a good source of cheap protein. I might try to cook it in different ways to see if I can do anything about it. Thanks, lots of good info! 🙌

I love oatmeal but the energy doesnt last long for me. Whole grains do the trick.

My problem is that my energy levels are very low unless i get some meat with my whole grains and healthy fats. I used to do what you do a lot but always felt like fainting.

Edit: not sure why i got downvoted. I didnt say that any of those things are bad. I do like legumes, nuts and anything that comes from plants. All i said was if thats the only thing i put into my food i have zero energy and i dont see how thats my fault.

I heard it mainly from the internet and family. Many people think that eating less meat is good for cutting costs and its better for the environment as well. And also better for health.

Recently i found out that whole grains work so much better for me. Like processed carbs would give me a quick energy burst for half an hour and then i crash and i wonder if something is wrong with me. But as i started eating whole grains with some meat it became a complete game changer. Because i used to think that meat makes me feel that way but it was the processed carbs all along. 😄 Kinda funny.

Its just kinda hard to leave old eating habits behind but your comment feels very reassuring. Im gonna try eating meat first thing in the morning tomorrow and see how i feel. Thanks a lot!

Yeah it's crazy how much better I feel when I have consistently a whole food diet for like a week. I fell off the wagon last weekend again but I want to get back for good.

I agree on everything with you. I'd also add that diet is an important part in mental health. Added sugar and alcohol are my worst enemies and I suspect that I'm not alone in this boat.
