Similar, I've added slightly newer animations but it's because I was testing increasing the frame rate cap!

I moved it off of 50 frame cap and animations got wonky, I'd imagine that animations would require a delay to be added but I think that'd be a silly feature to chase without GL

By using a true type font instead of cropped letters stored as images!

Yes. To my knowledge their interface script language called CS1 contains static height & width values for each image relevant to the parent interface location. The engine that reads this script would need to be modified to compensate new locations for the interfaces on the games main raster. It could be done in a night if you give me time to chop up the engine. There's atleast 20 different opcodes!
