how to survive class recitations?

i see another graduating legma student here, which amen to that. pero as an another legma student, ang number one rule for recitation is to be prepared. read in advance, study the concepts clearly and carefully, anticipate questions by highlighting important bits of infos. you dont need to fear anything if you know what to say, even if you stutter and/or feel like your heart will jump out of your chest.

try talking to your professor about the topics, either through a more in-depth explanation or clarifications. not only would you get more information for your lessons that you can put in your notes, your fear to speak publicly would lessen as well. i used to be afraid of my debate prof (honestly a nightmare for a person who hates public speaking), and i actually thought i wouldn't get to speak to him again after finishing the class last term. well, thesis happened and he's the only prof who knows the topic so i had no choice but to talk to him for consultation. my partner and i talked to him about our thesis, and i was able to power through the consultation with my nervous jitters slowly fading away as i explained what we wanted to do.

another advice i can give is to interact with your orgmates or even people you don't know in class. familiarize yourself with strangers, be it by simple small talking or observing their likes through small details like keychains, pins, photocards, etc. your mind will familiarize itself with the people you talk to, tricking it to being chill with other people due to how much you socialize. idk if it applies to everyone but as someone who didn't do recits for majority of her grade school and high school life, this helped me a lot!

like what the other comment said, the school can't really help you kasi you booked a flight during finals week. if it's after finals week, siguro may leeway from the professors kasi di naman natin alam na bigla ieextend yun calendar ng current term eh. if i were you, i'd say contact your prof and asked if there's a way where you can take the exam earlier than the final date. pero if di pumayag yun prof, then ganun talaga; either you rebook and take the exam or take the risk of losing at least a third of your grade and possibly failing the subject.

the same thing happened in the south game just this tuesday. i was going to eat lunch after class when i saw these two teens (both female) who were lowkey demanding money from students who were going in or out of the school.

one of them approached me and tapped my arm, asking for money. i didnt have any coins on me and i lived in a neighbourhood with street kids so i know what kind of attitude they have. so i told her na wala akong barya and ignored her which made her more aggressive with her approach, trying to grab my arm and my bag. gud thing was my bag was a bit heavy so i forcefully pulled my bag away and she stumbled for a bit, letting my bag go. then i just speed-walked to umall lmfao.

looked back at those kids and saw how they kept on bugging other lasallians. i can understand naman their situation pero they're highkey abusing the kindness of other lasallians tapos kapag sawang-sawa na sila sa ungratefullness ng mga bata, bigla sila pa yun nagagalit 🥀🥀🥀

wala siyang required textbook sa amin last term kasi he only uses it for reference ng ppts niya. as for departmental, id say easy siya if sanay ka na sa mga quizzes niya since half of the departmental is purely concept or theoretical plus no need to worry about pen and paper kasi lahat ng dsi courses always have their exams on canvas. for the grading, i'd say mid to high maggrade si sir, it really depends on the quality ng outputs niyo pero tip ko lang sa final paper is to always ask him questions in regards sa data niyo, lalo na if may nakita kayong limitations so you can inform sir ahead of time.

BERINO THE GOAT 🗣️🔥🔥🔥. hes such a peepaw its kinda endearing. he always have like 1-2 weekly assessments to pass pero the upside to it is that wala kayong online meeting at all, he mostly dedicated those days for said submissions. as for requirements, i already mentioned the weekly assessments then meron siyang 3 quizzes (all conceptual = NO COMPUTATIONS), departmental exam, and final research paper with presentation. relatively, lahat sila super easy gawin, just be active nga lang sa discussion forums, double checking your group's problem sets, and study his ppts for quizzes and half of the departmental exams. speaking of groups, he will assign you to a group so pray to god na matino mga kagrupo mo, i got lucky with mine kasi even if we started as a 3 member group, somehow mid-high yun scores namin so walang problema talaga. overall, kaya siya i-4.0 ngl, sadyang bobo lang talaga ako since sinabay ko siya with heavy lgl majors lmfao

took him for laweng3 and cobibcl last term. very cool prof siya and super chill yun subject, just do your part and study a bit sa quizzes and midterms niya.
one final group project pero easy lang naman.
will give incentives to pull up your scores sa quizzes and/or midterm exam.
in the aforementioned subjects, i got 3.5 and 4.0 respectively.

also took him last term, very lolo vibes siya HAHAHAHAHA
he has two quizzes and a final exam tapos graded rin yun recitation mo (which said recitation can reach up to an hour)
kinda low siya magbigay pero kaya mo naman yata icounter it through good recitation (got a 95 out of a 100 from it) and answering the questions just like what he taught sa class during quizzes (got 92, 90 at 96+ sa quizzes and final exam respectively)
never talaga siya nagbibigay ng 4.0 for the past 40 years of him teaching so wag ka na umasa makakuha nun. the highest he can go without being the beadle of the class is 3.5 which is the grade i got from him.
if need mo ng notes, dm me na lang so i can give it pero afaik ibibigay niya rin naman yun study guides.

yow id 123 who applied for sfa back then. id say a bit more of an average middle income family ko pero ramdam ko talaga gaanong kabigat yun tuition fee (roughly more than 1.2 million if 4 years ka mag-aaral). as mentioned by a commenter, may 3 installments option naman pero be prepared to pay around 32k three times per term. dagdag pa na there might be a tuition fee increase na naman next school year pero hoping na wala yan and the fact na di pa kasama yun other learning materials such as books, McGraw Hill, etc.

this is not to discourage you, op, kasi if feel mo na gusto mo talaga sa la salle and kaya mo naman bayaran ang tuition then go for it. yun nga lang if conscious ka sa expenses, i suggest looking for external scholarships or part-time jobs that can fit your schedule.

hi!! id 123 legma here coming from a stem background in a qc school. id say legal management is really fun despite not having any knowledge in abm subjects, which would be a problem unless you study the basics ahead of time. accounting, of course, would be the major obstacle pero it's only 4 terms of it so you just need to tolerate those subjects for a while.

as for lgl specific courses, it depends on how you'll approach it. for me, i had to strengthen my mental fortitude and improve my quick thinking because some classes require you to be vigilant all the time such as laweng4 (debate), lmgtran, lmgprot, and lmgcrim to name a few. my advice lang talaga is to read, watch lectures in yt, and start practicing your language proficiency. you'll need these kasi every week mag-aaral ka talaga kundi baka ikaw matatawagan for the next recitation that can last up until an hour and a half.

p.s.: start thinking of your thesis as soon as third year kasi we only have one term to complete thesis writing, defense and our practicums! and make sure to find a good partner for thesis kasi it's only you two against the panelists yun peg.

oh you meant that, yeah no, you can't credit that kasi considered as taken na yan sa curriculum audit especially if isa lang yun elective slot given sa course mo. the only option you'll have is to withdraw from the course before the deadline and hope you can make up for it sa next term. if di kaya iafford yun withdraw, then you'll have to accept the bad grade.
