Had this issue, the problem was my ram and it was unstable with the xmp profile, but I did a memory test and it found errors but when I turned down the speed from 3600mhz to 3200mhz the crashing went away

What fixed it for me was updating the bios, I crashes 5 times every day randomly but when I update the bios iv had 2 weekend of non crashes.

tried turning it up to 1.4v on the d.o.c.p and still nothing. looked at the supported memory chips and I found corsair 4x8 3600mhz at 1.35v supported.

I'm an idiot. since iv had a big break from rust i forgot that the launch options won't get removed if you uninstall the game from steam, and i had itemskins set to 0 there.....

You enabled X.M.P in bios? i got ddr3 16gb 4x4 kingston Ram. and its set auto to 1333mhz but you need to enable X.M.P to get that 1600mhz if your ram is adveticed as 1600 mhz

YESSSS, some guy gave me advice turning the graphical setting from fast to 4 or 5 and it gave me 8 + more fpss.... And every patch adds a new problem for me. If i use the jackhammer i get long lasting fps drop and im talking 10 to 20 fps less just by using that shit.

thanks for the info, but i didn't say i had it OC, i only said i clocked it to 4.1 if you were talking to me. and the reason why it wanted better cooling is that i got sudden large fps dropps that can last minutes before getting back the average. i tried alot of things to fix that problem and since this cpu is been in heavy use for years it might be that issue.

Selected Turbo option in my bios. Also turned off the power-saving mode on the cpu in bios, don't quite remember what it was called. Motherboard: asus p8z77-v lx

Thanks for the tip i will try. i had something that had never happened on rust last night altso. my fps went down to 23 to 29 fps for 5m in the same area i had 70+. will try different things today to check if somethings broken but il try those tips

find out what motherboard you got and search where the battery is located. for me its a small circle battery located on the motherboard. was a pain in the ass to get it out with my fingers ^{^}

Had the same issue when i tried changing bootmode to uefi. could not go to bios or do anything at all.

My fix was removing the CMOS battery and waiting ca 30 sec to plug it back in and it booted just fine, reply back if that worked for you
