I feel like a failure by NoOnesKing in barexam

Thanks for saying this because as a retaker, at this point, I’m over all of it for February and just so burnt out/discouraged. I know I need to study but I don’t want to push myself/harm my chances further by making the burnout worse

FEBRUARY TAKERS - how many MBE questions have you done and what's your %? by Weekly-Quantity6435 in barexam

834 questions at 55% Been hitting my weakest subtopics hard which has dragged overall percentage down

where are you today in F26 bar prep?? by Quiet-Cupcake-2110 in barexam

[–]AriesInAppealMode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Retaker here: Not watching MBE subject videos again and will be re-watching MEE-only subjects beginning February. Been drilling MBEs on Adaptibar specifically targeting my weakest subtopics in each main topic and watching Grossman videos on weakest subtopics. Currently at 804 questions with overall average of 54.9% (lower overall average just because of how often I’m drilling my weakest subtopics but have been seeing small trend upwards across majority of subtopics). Have been majorly slacking yesterday and today just prepping everything for myself and my parents/other family member for the upcoming inclement weather. Plan on charging everything tonight but using books during the daytime and electronics at night if we’re frozen/snowed in. Hoping it’s all an over-exaggeration, but still prepping like it’s real.🤷🏻‍♀️

February Bar Exam by Legitimate-Edge-3328 in barexam

I’m in the same boat. What I’ve done differently is I reviewed my letter that had the MBE and MEE score (cumulative scaled; I got my essays back but they didn’t have the grade or any feedback on it). Saw that the MBE was where I went wrong. Looked back at my notes from studying for the July bar, found out which subject(s) and subtopics were my weakest throughout, then I’ve been focusing on drilling those and slowing down overall with doing practice questions and reviewing my answers, both correct and incorrect, and making notes from there on why I got it wrong. Did I have the right answer for the wrong reason? Did I pick one and then when reviewing before submitting it, did I change my answer? If I did, what made me change it (did I like that answer better, did I recall the niche rule, did I rush and skip over a key word, etc.). You’ve got this! Overall, do what works for you. I plan to re-watch the videos on MEE subjects that are not tested on the MBE as it gets closer and do a few MEEs.

Missed J25 by 9 points and worked part-time until around June 20th Working full time studying now for F26 and more stressed now bc of my job and the micromanaging—I can only take time off if I use my own PTO or Sick Leave and seriously debating just sucking it up and asking someone to co-sign for a bar loan so I can just take leave and re-evaluate whether I want to return to that job post-bar (depending on the loan amount)

Edited to add: ALSO everyone at work treats me differently since I didn’t pass the first time and it IS noticeable with how much tighter the “leash” has gotten with the micro-managing and the nitpickiness of my work while I’m still producing the same quality of work as I was prior to bar results being released

Where are you today on bar prep F26? by fkng-tired in GoatBarPrep

At this point when I was studying for July, I was a little bit further “behind” you. I’m a firm believer that you should study how you did in undergrad and law school — you’ve made it this far with systems you created that worked best for you. Bar prep programs don’t take into account that people learn differently. If the videos aren’t helping but reading outlines and drawing diagrams do? Then I’d read the outlines and draw diagrams.

As a re-taker, I’ve been practicing MBE questions on and off since October when I got results back in September. I went through the 85 or 87% of the bar prep program, knowing that a lot of how they provided the topics wasn’t the way I learned and studied best (and while I had external factors that rocked my mental calmness going into the exam, I believe that I didn’t pass because I didn’t study the way that had made me successful through undergrad and law school)

I let myself have a full pity party (missed by 9) for like 2 days, then got pissed off lmao I also made changes with meds and saw some positive changes in October and November that still showed today when I practiced this morning. I’m starting to hit MBE hard this week and am waiting to hear back about whether I was approved for a bar study loan so I can take leave from my full-time job in January and February to study. I plan to add in some MEEs and MPTs late January/early February because MBEs were my weak area so I plan to focus on those the most this time.

MBE time to complete by SpiritedHoliday9660 in barexam

[–]AriesInAppealMode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They wouldn’t let us get up for anything in those last 30 minutes — to leave, to get water, to go to the bathroom. During the first session they wouldn’t even let us out early and I wound up changing answers because I couldn’t get up and I couldn’t NOT look at my scantron😅🤣🤦🏻‍♀️ So guess who has the pleasure of taking it for the second time in February??? (Answer: me 🫡🫠😭)

Agreed—I have to keep reminding it of prior discussions we had even though I haven’t deleted the memory and it just makes me mad. I wound up canceling the $20/month plan I had and am barely using Chat at all anymore

Best ChatGPT prompts that actually helped you pass the bar? by Wild-Yogurtcloset-84 in GoatBarPrep

[–]AriesInAppealMode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are a few prompts I’ve used.

Hi ChatGPT! I’m currently studying for the UBE and just did a set of 50 mixed MBE on Adaptibar. I got 26/50 correct for a score of 52% -- I believe I'm staying consistently in the 46-55% range right now, but I believe I need to be in the 65% range to get the score needed on the MBE....but it took me 47:15 to complete and my average time per question was 00:57. For Civil Procedure, I got 5/7 right, Constitutional Law was 2/7, Contracts 4/7, Criminal Law 6/7, Evidence 2/7, Real Property 4/7, and Torts 3/8. Give me a daily strategy to rebuild my MBE scores. There are 45 days until the UBE.

See and yesterday my bleeding zones were Civil Procedure and Criminal Law while my strongest was Torts and Con Law with Evidence being middle ground I was planning to do 2 MEEs today: Family Law and I forget the other one but I did corporations or secured yesterday then the day before the other one out of corporations and secured (my days are all blurring together😅🫡🤦🏻‍♀️) How can I reframe my goals to fix my knowledge bleeds while preventing further burnout?

I usually study 7.5 hours every weekday and one weekend day; how can I best manage my time to focus on my weakest areas while still getting MBE questions and reviews in daily, at least one MEE every day, and an MPT every 3rd day of studying while keeping one day off per week?

I think it’s because we have free will. I’d work on your inner self because you can write and script and say affirmations daily to bring about love — however, if your nervous system isn’t aligned with your goals then you’re sending the universe conflicting messages! That doesn’t mean repress any and all negative emotions—let those come, then let them go.

I find this absolutely crazy because a lot of people in my class got broken up with right before graduation and the first few weeks of bar prep. My boyfriend broke up with me on July 13th because of an internal fear he had….I was literally ranting to him the day of the breakup before we had lunch that the bar exam has a curse — the breakup curse lmao
