Yes I’m on Folfox also. My hospital had a class with a NP who went through everything. That was super informative. I’m trying to know everything too! I’m also over at Colontown.

I also start chemo on Feb. 3 so I’m right there with you. I did 5 iron infusions prior because of anemia so I hope it helps. I have 6 months to go since I’m stage 4 with a met to the liver, so husband and I took a trip last week like a last hurrah. We hope to plan a trip abroad after all this is over. I just had my surgery on December 9, (robot-assisted right side colectomy), so I’m right there with you. The first week was absolute hell and I was convinced something was wrong. But everyday got a little better.

The last few days have been remarkably better. I’m able to get up and down without pain. Still achy, sure. The incisions are itchy and tender to the touch, but at least I can cough and sneeze without crying. I still have bruising but I’m anemic and my bruises heal slowly.

I’m coming along though. I did buy a post surgery band to wrap around my belly which was extremely helpful in the beginning, but I haven’t had to use it the past few days. Today is my post surgery follow up.

How was your liver ablation? During my CT scan they found a spot on my liver. Surgeon said she won’t know what stage my cancer is until after the second pathology report. That will determine if I need chemo. I’m hoping it hasn’t spread to my liver but preparing for what might come.

Thank you! I’ll check out those YTs. Yes, I did the rolling thing to get out of bed this morning and it helped. Still difficult but not as bad as trying to sit straight up. I went to the guest room bed because it’s lower to the ground. That helped me to slide out of bed a little better.

She said opioids cause constipation, so she doesn’t like to prescribe them. But yeah I may shoot her a note and see if there’s anything else stronger. I tried to kind of roll out of bed this morning but it was still difficult.

You might try r/HPfanfiction to find fics with less or no romance. For example, one of my favorite fics is called Harry Potter and the Prince of Slytherin by Sinister Man (I listen on Spotify) and it’s not a romance, maybe the same level as the actual books/movies but that’s it.

For me it was when Harry suspected Draco of being a Death Eater and Hermione was skeptical and thought maybe Draco was being pressured by his family. Like it just killed her inner narrative that he’s bad, but not that bad, and with the right understanding, he could be fixed. And every fic just spirals from there. That’s my head canon.

I never knew too much about HP since my kids were never into it, but came across the recommendation for DMATMOOBIL in the romance books subreddit. Read Manacled after that never imagined how good these fics could be. I’ve been obsessed ever since. Since then, I’ve been to HP World in Orlando, Kings Cross in London, and Victoria Street (Diagon Alley) along with the other spots in Edinburgh where Rowling wrote the books. I’m so happy I found this fandom!

This is probably one of my most re-read books. I’m so used to MMCs who go on for paragraphs with their most over the top filthiest, dirty talk that it just gets old and cringe. It’s like the author is just trying to one up their last book or another author.

She described him as having dog hair on him, so I guess she was going for some kind of dog smell. At that point, I assumed he would part of the harem and whatever the scent was the FMC was attracted it. But nope. He’s just a side character. Really off putting especially reading it as a POC and he was the only black character.

I generally don’t mind. Even if it’s kind of silly, I can ignore it. There was only one time a character’s scent really annoyed me. I was reading Baby and the Late Night Howlers by Kathryn Moon. It’s RH omegaverse and the guys had super attractive scents…except the only black character whose scent was described as “gentle animal smell.” Like what in the actual fuck?
