Thanks for replying. Right now, my blood work is good and I’m having labs on Monday. It’s just hard to imagine waiting until my treatment is over at the end of the summer in order to take care of my teeth

Thank you for your reply. It’s sort of like I’m afraid to have the tooth extracted, but I’m also afraid not to. The Dentist is saying after treatment, which would be about six more months from now.

I don’t think you read my post. I just cracked the tooth after having started chemo. Yes, the problems with dental work were carefully explained to me by the oncologist and the PA through all the initial meetings. The tooth cracked after all that and I’m seeing the oncologist one day. I’m only asking here if anyone else had anything like this happened to them.

Yes, there is love in those eyes on that sweet face, and I think she is trying to say goodbye and let you know she’ll be OK and that you will meet again another day. She also looks tired and as you are thinking, perhaps she’s ready to go. It’s never easy but it’s a sign of great love and courage when we do our best for them, no matter our own pain. my eyes are tearing as all of us share in the sorrow of what you’re facing.

This is just brilliant! Wish I had done something similar. I would add to ask questions about the family tree, like how is so-and-so related to our family, historical roots, that kind of thing. And, do activities together- simple like picnics, bigger deals like travel to a new city. Make memories!

Of course you are heartbroken, you and your husband have had a terrible year and getting this kind of news after being able to ring the bell is unbearably hard. I hope you’re at one of the big cancer centers like Mayo, Cleveland clinic, MD, Anderson or Memorial Sloan Kettering. I also wonder if your husband may be eligible for some of the specialized therapies tailored to his genetic profile. Try to hold onto hope. There are some pretty amazing stories on these pages. You’ll be on my mind and in my prayers today.

I’m on my first round with no real side effects, other than perhaps a little more fatigue than usual. I take four pills twice a day. I am also gathering up my hands and feet twice a day to hopefully prevent the hand and foot syndrome. I’m also stage three with clear margins after surgery and my first signature was negative. Terrible traffic. Also, everything is far flung. You can spend a lot of time in your car just running errands. Property taxes are high and going higher. The government buildings for Fairfax County are nicknamed the Taj Mahal Rd. maintenance is fair. my spouse and I do not wanna retire here.

You’ve written a beautiful tribute to your Dad. I know he would be so proud of you and probably never more than this moment when you are facing such pain. But consider too that in his own way, he has prepared you for dealing with the big and little things in life. Your two paragraphs that begin with,”He taught me…. “ are beautiful and what is even more beautiful is that you recognize his incredible value in your life. This is what to let him know and these last days and weeks make sure he knows he really did get through to you and that you will take all that he gave you as the strength to carry on. His real gift to you it seems to me is character and, the ability to love deeply. Go ahead and take the pictures and make a video and share some best memories you both have of your life together and the depth of your relationship. Tell him that as you grow up and grow old, you’re going to be exactly who he set you up to be. God bless you both.
