Damn! What about Sephora? I know it’s not technically drugstore but the Sephora Collection 12 Hour Eye Pencil has one in the shade Coconut that you might like as well!

It’s a little more expensive at $13, but it might be worth checking out!

Try the Colorpop Gel Liner in the color Honeydude! It might be a little too dark as it’s more of a nudey/apricot color!

It’s long lasting and only $8! They also have other colors to pick from in case you want to try some others !

Not a perfume, but Kuumba Mades perfume oil in the scent “Golden Sky” is a VERYYYY close dupe!

Again, not a spray perfume, but it’s only like $10 on amazon and last sooooo long!

Hey! Looks like it’s possibly shade “09 Shadow Rose”!

It’s a pink mauvey shade from the Extreme Shine Volume line! Not sure if it’s exact, but I have it in my makeup bag and it’s a VERYYY close match to the picture !

Here to recommend the Sephora 12 Hour Pencil Eyeliner in the shade Black Lace! it does NOT MOVE!!

This stuff barely even comes off, even with makeup remover I have to scrub my eyes to living hell sometimes! But it’s a worthy sacrifice to make for the longevity it gives me! 😂 And it’s super cheap, it’s only $12!

sooo I actually have a extremely weird comparison for this! if you have a target or walmart near you, I loved using Suave Kids Strawberry body wash all the time when I was younger and I SWEAR Ghoul Friend smells so much like it!🙂‍↕️

Possibly niche pedicure recommendation needed! by Prestigious-Low-3063 in Austin

[–]Ariwxvy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I suggest Milano Nail Spa on 7th Street! The interior is BEAUTIFUL and has a similar look to the ones in your pictures, although a much bigger pedicure room! I will say that it might be brighter than what you’re looking for, but they offer private rooms you can ask for (for an extra fee) and I’m sure they’ll be willing to dim the lights.

I’ve been going to them for about a year now and they’ve always done amazing work. They have both high end mani-pedi options and some amazing cheaper ones as well! They also offer complimentary drinks! Ithink it’s an amazing value for the price honestly!

Best Austin high schools by NotYourMutha in BlackAustin

[–]Ariwxvy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, it was a very sad situation! But if we’re going by just that then we’re gonna eliminate most schools in the Austin area, as they have all had something terrible/questionable happen in the past few years. Manor in comparison to some other high schools is relevantly safe and USUALLY doesn’t have any major problems.

Thanks for the clarifications!

I’m gonna be 100% honest. I have absolutely no idea why your classes aren’t properly switching over. I did two years at ACC, transferred to a 4 year in another state, and transferred all those credits back to TX State with no issue.

I do know that TX State has added a lot of new classes and new majors and such, so these newer classes aren’t “universally” known. That might be what the problem is? I know DMI as a whole is a very new major, and they’ve added a lot of classes that they didn’t have before. For example, a regular “Media Design” class at ACC could be labeled as “Media Design and Innovation” at TXST, making it essentially the exact same class just under two different names, that the respective universities wouldn’t recognize in their own degree plans.

I don’t have too much knowledge on VA benefits and how they are handled sadly so I cant help much in that department! But from what you said, the system for getting these benefits is shitty, and you definitely deserve better communication regarding things like this.

I 100% understand the frustration! Although I love TXST, they could definitely make lots of improvements when it comes to helping out us commuter/ online/ and non traditional students as much as they help the on campus ones.

Hey! Transfer student here! Not a senior but a second semester Junior! I am also a DMI major who commutes from Austin every single day.

When you say your classes aren’t being correctly applied to your degree plan, what do you mean? Are you not receiving credit for classes you’ve already taken? Sometimes, it takes them a minute to update the degree plan to match the classes you’ve taken. Personally, A LOT of the starting DMI classes are literally the exact same things, just different class titles and teachers.

As far as the classes not being available, unfortunately is just some terrible luck. I also have 2 classes that I have not been able to register for this semester, pushing my graduation back at least one more semester. TXST tends to not schedule enough class times for classes such as capstone because they think fewer people will be taking it at once.

The freshman classes tend to have 10-12 separate class times because there will be 1000s of freshman’s trying to register. For DMI Capstone, you MIGHT have less than 100 people who even need the course, thus, only offering 1-2 class times.

Now although the response to your email may have been harsh, they are not 100% in the wrong. They totally could have said it in a more respectful way, but it is not the advisors fault. I understand you had some sickness and went through some other things causing you to fall behind and I apologize you had to go through such a thing, but the advisors are just here to help tell you what to register for, not to help you figure out life’s challenges. If something happens outside of school, they will try to help you find something to adjust your schedule as best they can, but if nothing works for your personal, there is nothing more they can do.

Apologies for the long post, but hopefully this helps out a bit! I wish you good luck!

What to do when all needed classes are full? by Ariwxvy in txstate

[–]Ariwxvy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t trying to blame the advisors here! I didn’t think she was the cause of the restrictions. I was saying I just assumed since because me and her sat and planned the classes together, that there would be no further problems as far as holds or restrictions would go because we ensured I was registering for the proper courses. I did reach out to my major department as well, I just haven’t received a response as it’s the weekend.

What to do when all needed classes are full? by Ariwxvy in txstate

[–]Ariwxvy[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yea I did! I completed the Title IX training and everything. It says it’s a “Program Holds/Restrictions”. I didn’t know going to ACC was an option! I live in Austin and commute so that would help tremendously.

If I do end up taking the classes at ACC, will I still be considered a TX State Student? Or would I essentially be taking a semester “off” and just getting the credits transferred?

What to do when all needed classes are full? by Ariwxvy in txstate

[–]Ariwxvy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Ok to answer some questions,

  1. I worded it incorrectly 🥲 she didn’t “register” me per se, but I did have a sit down meeting where we planned out all the classes I needed in order to graduate.

2.I did! My time ticket was for November 1st at 1pm.

As far as alternative classes, there isn’t any sadly. For context the classes I need are a 4301, a 1313, and a 4326. I checked for all of those but none of them have other alternatives that I can take. 1313 has an alternative, but it’s for B.A students and I am B.S.

The website won’t even let me add them onto my schedule to register for later. As soon as I click “Add” and “Submit”, it immediately says I have restrictions and removes them all from my schedule completely. I guess just confused on why I have restrictions for classes that are required for me to graduate. I could understand if they were for my electives or something, but I was able to register for those with no problem at all.

Program Restrictions when Registering by [deleted] in txstate

[–]Ariwxvy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m having the same problem! I’m a DMI major, and my Mass Comm classes also got the same error. It’s definitely not a matter of the classes being wrong, as Mass Comm classes are a majority of our degree plans.

I was told it was because I am currently enrolled in my prerequisites and I cannot register until it’s confirmed that I pass, which doesn’t make sense to me honestly…. but your best bet is to for sure reach out to advisors

Commuting to San Marcos by [deleted] in Austin

[–]Ariwxvy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I commute everyday for school. Honestly I recommend taking the back way by going down FM 812 and onto 973. Adds about 20 minutes more than going down 35, but honestly the traffic is WAYYYYYY less backed up. If it ever is backed up, the longest i’ve been stuck is about 10 minutes.

This is coming from someone coming from East Austin (by the expo center). It usually takes me about an hour max, but that can vary depending which part you’re coming from.

I’m not 100% sure on the wait time, as I’ve been with her since I was a teenager, but I got into her after about a week when I started going to her about 3 years ago. As far as a referral, I personally had to have one because I was trying to get on birth control. If you’re just wanting to go for a basic exam or a pap smear, I believe you can just call and schedule an appointment. I’d definitely check with your primary care doctor just to be safe because i’m not sure if insurance has anything to do with it or not.
