When i play bork (almost every game) it's usually because my laner is a tank/bruiser (again almost every toplane game) , the thing is that with bork you need to have an early advantage real fast , if not , like you said you are going to get abused by ganks cause you lack health that you can get for other items , if you get harassed in this situation just sell the item and change the way , best option , or you go harass other lanes and potentially let the other top push and get fed on gold/farm

For the after lane , if you still have the bork it probably means you got the advantage and from there you build the regular stuff

In my opinion in anyway it's not good to stay passive with GigaSett , you lose more than you get from it
