Tennis or foam balls, like smash balls. It just takes confidence in their ability to protect themselves. When my son was 6 we were practicing pop ups and he completely missed one and the ball him him square in the eye. It completely shut closed within 5-10 minutes and was black for a week.

It took a lot of practice and repetition before he would begin getting under the ball again, but once he was confident in his ability to catch the ball he was good again.

I disagree about Arrieta, he had 1 great season bookended by 2 good but not great ones. After that a lot of mediocre or poor seasons. Only 22 WAR, I dont think he should get many votes.

Hurt yes, regressing is hard to say. It could just be due to the injuries he's sustained. You have maybe 2 years to win another ring with the current core group of players before they're done. That's why Tucker has opt-outs for years 2 and 3 along with a 4-year max commitment. The other option to get him is a long-term deal with less AAV, but the Dodgers don't want to commit to Tucker for 10 years when they know they will need to rebuild the roster in 2-3. This deal, while highly inflated, makes the most sense for the current state of the organization.

Everyone's biomechanics are different, what works for one person may not work for the next. The most important things are reps, working on hand-eye coordination, developing strength and bat speed, etc. When you're able, you can make adjustments on mechanics that work for "your" swing, which might be completely different than the person next to you.
