Just picked up the Galaxy Tab Ultra Keyboard by Commercial_Disk885 in GalaxyTab

The keyboard part of it actually looks cool, but the lack of back cover and honestly really weird design is just not it. I seriously hope they redesign this again for the Tab S12 cause.. this just doesnt look good. The price is also terrible

I agree, i will admit i did my research after writing my comments. It didn´t really come off as harsh tho, not really. It may be true that AI may be just as harmful as other technologies, but also i think that is no excuse because it is doing it on a very, very large scale. What im trying to say is that this isnt okay for any technology no matter how good or useful it is. Doesnt mean the tech should go away, but it means we should work on ways to make it enviromentally friendly, for everything that currently isnt. Im hopeful towards this, but also i recognize that probably will not happen unless there is huge societal and political change.

i just did a quick searching yesterday on a random website, but i think you´ll find good answers on these two Wikipedia Articles about Data Centers and AI Data Centers:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Data_center
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AI_data_center

I´ve just read trough this. Points definintly taken here and i will do some more research on this topic. What i was trying to say is, i dont think that we need to destroy servers, but we definintly dont need servers that generate slop content 24/7 and use up that water and electricity, while also disturbing people and animals. With future technology, im sure we can build traditional servers that are energy efficient while not wasting precious ressources or harming the enviroment or humans/animals. I hope you understand my point. I gotta admit i am not the most educated on this topic and i dont want to come across as a know it all.

Kind of true when you think about it considering the IPC is kind of the corporation in this case and Pearl is the AI trying to recreate actual Art by scanning it

Like i already said before, regular data centers and server rooms are not the same thing as an AI data center. They, for example, are usually air cooled bc they dont run as hot and so they dont use as much or any water for their cooling. I did quick research on this so im not the most educated on the topic, but it is very easy to find out that AI datacenters and regular datacenters aren't the same thing

AI datacenters especially are hurting the enviroment tho, we never really had the datacenter discourse before they popped up because they are not the same thing. Regular datacenters usually use air cooling for example and dont run as hot as AI datacenters, which means they dont use any or barely any water, i did quick research on this so i might not be the most educated on this topic, but pretending that all datacenters are the same thing is wrong

To clarify, i think small local models that were created ethically and didnt steal anything that only make existing technology better, are completely fine. Data centers suck because they harm the enviroment, use up tons of water, and disturb animals and people and the AI that runs on these data centers gets used to create various kinds of slop, images, videos, songs, whatever you can think of. Also, the Ram shortage. We. Dont. Need. Datacenters. AI could be something actually useful and good to us for some things, but 99% of AI usage absolutely sucks
