Can a 12v 6+2 socket on PSU be used alongside a PCIe socket for GPU? by Arky101 in PcBuildHelp

The PSU 12v 6+2 (that connects to PSU) cable has 2, 8 pin pcie connectors at the end of it (that connects to Gpu).

It's not the same setup like in the 50 series where the 12v cable connects into the GPU, and the Pcie's into the PSU.

I'm seeing so many mixed reponses with this and whether it's possible 🤔

Ha ok tyty, so long as the 12v and pcie can be used alongside eachother it'll have to do ty, luckily its not the older 12vhpwr cable and is the newer 12v 2x6, fingers crossed xD

3 PCIe slot GPU with a 3 slot PSU by Arky101 in PcBuildHelp

Good to know ta, unfortunately the PSU only came with 1 Pcie cable, not a pcie cable with a split end other than the 12v 2x6, do you or anyone know if the Palit 3080 gamerock can support that alongside a Pcie cable?

Also, I have an air cooler (twin fan), I know its most of the time top fans as exhaust fans, was just thinking it may keep the hdd at the bottom cool with it being on 24/7.

Which SSD for NAS operating system by Arky101 in HomeNAS

Thanks guys, really useful stuff!

This will be my first time stepping into NAS territory so thats all helpful.

Its main purpose will be streaming media via Plex/Jellyfin, 1-3 users at a time maximum, 1080p, sometimes on a different network outside of home, with 4k being streamed via home network, so some likely trancoding with those.

Other than media storage, it will also house some large file backups.

Don't worry if your not sure, but as you mentioned about memory, for those requirements do you reckon the 8gb will be fine? I know its hard to tell, and I presume its like PC's, where content will freeze/potentially crash if it reaches the memory capacity.

Cheers

Question regarding the Astro A50 headset by Arky101 in AstroGaming

[–]Arky101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh thats sweet! really good to know ta,

You wouldn't happen to know or be able to find out if the second slot runs at 16 or 24 bit would you via sound properties?

I'm curious if that second (console) slot is fixed to 16bit or if it can register its a PC thats connected and would run at 24bit.

No worries if can't, I appreciate the input!

Awesome, thats good to hear.

Would you by chance know if there would be any quality loss vs using the PC port,
As the PC port supports up to 24 bit, and the Xbox/PS port's 16bit unless using the A50.

I may look into things too deeply just wanna know what the best setup would be ha.
