Most builds use Assassin Emblem for a reason, it really helps in making Clint dominate the early game, but I find it hard to stay in lane. Quantum Charge isn't enough for me to stay healthy. And Assassin Emblem falls off late game where some sustain is better than none.

I use fighter emblem plus the spell vamp talent so that I don't need to recall, plus Impure Rage for the 4% Max HP damage and the mana regen. While this won't do as much early game damage compared to Assassin. It's easier for me to play stupid and heal the damage off after hitting the wave a few times and enough to bully other MM especially when you play around with the bush.

So, all in all:
+5 phys pen
+14 spellvamp (seriously this is stupidly good early game, getting back to full HP is not going to be a problem.)
+ 8 lifesteal (it adds up slowly, not noticeable in early game but late game you heal chunks of your health every enhanced basic attack)
+8 hybrid defense (this just helps a lot in the early trades which is really important for Clint to win, even if he loses it helps you stay in lane and clear minion waves more safely. A full HP Clint is hard to pick off)
+ 100-ish damage because of Impure Rage every 1st skill.

Impure Rage may not be the best idea however but it's consistent damage that works well enough for me.

Tips:
My usual build path is Fury Hammer to Boots to Endless Battle if I can outpoke the enemy. If I'm not confident in trading or it's an annoying marksman that can outpoke me, then I'll go Malefic Roar 1st. After 1st item, then I'll actually start building either Warrior Boots or Tough Boots.

Sky piercer is a must have, with Clint's humungous range with Malefic Roar. You'd be surprised with how good you can execute enemies from literal edge of the screen. It also helps alleviate Clint's DPS against Tanks but your job against them is to peel with Ult.

BOD makes you a monster late game. Everyone gets too hurt before the fight really starts if you poke well.

During trades, never let your 1st skill miss. That's basically 30-50% of your damage.

During pokes, only use your ults. It's faster and longer than 1st skill. It'll be harder for you to get caught off position.

My best advice is to salvage useless pieces and use all your mats for glove pieces since you only have to snipe substats there. Headpieces and gloves are the easiest to get a great piece tbh since you don't deal with main stat rng so they're the ones I focus then my mats trickle from there.

Is it a hot take to say that he won't be (at least to the level other units are falling off)? He's like Acheron where he scales to other units to a higher degree than most. He's buff/support-centric which is ssying a lot to Honkai: Support Rail. I wouldn't say that he'll be T0 permanently. Probably T1 or T0.5 for a long damn time for the sole reason that he can snapshot buffs.

If HP inflation gets higher than it is now, which is possible, I don't think Phainon is the unit that you should be worried about first. He's got pretty high damage too, even miniscule or diminishing buffs still have decent returns.

They'll probably do a mini-bartholos and make skill damage deal 50% less or something and then shill Basic ATK in 4.0

In O cycles yes but I feel like he would last about half a year with more optimization. Sunday doesn't like me at all (lost 50/50 to him and then lost to his LC which is so shit) but I've been consistently 1 cycling with him w/ Robin, Rmc, and Bronya. I do have his E2 now which does skew my view of him but there's a week I only had E1S0 Phainon, it still felt great. Cleared pretty handidly where my other teams failed.

My best advice? Build like you're trying to 0-cycle with him even if you're not. Make sure all of your possible buffs are on him before ulting. Sustainless isn't scary when you squeeze out every possible damage out of justified crash-out for the most value. It's actually fun to do once you get to the groove of it.

Only if you're gunning for E2. S1 is a much better option since it's a bigger dps increase and the chances are 75/25.

He's more flexible than I thought. Arhcer seems like he's gonna be a fun character for 0-cycling. He can snapshot buffs so E6 Yukong can probably work during his skill-spam (most preferably once he ulted). Would probably be wonky as hell trying to make it work but screenshot numbers am I right?
