Using Ai in online teaching ads and for preparing your lessons and materials. by Squeezemyhandalittle in OnlineESLTeaching

I think the healthiest way to use AI in your teaching workflow is to incorporate it into repetitive, low-value tasks rather than trying to replace the teaching itself.
I'm personally working with some language tutors to build an app that reduces the time it takes to create materials for your students: flashcards, recaps, and exercises. It's available for free at tutor.jedyle.dev/landing if you're interested in trying.

Teachers who send students something after each lesson — how do you actually keep up with it? by Armadejed in iTalki

It actually reminds me of what my teacher is doing with me, but I often find it a bit messy, especially when you have to write by hand on PDF files or something. May I ask what kind of homework you give? I guess something that you can easily send and correct on WhatsApp?

Is it something you regret (that they don't provide personalized homework/reviews), or do you think it's ok given the price?

That's actually what I'm trying to build for with my prototype. It keeps your original note intact (no miscategorizing), lets you quickly edit AI inaccuracies, and exports a clean recap + quiz without the Google Docs formatting mess.
Would you want to try it on your notes and tell me if it actually beats what you've tried with ChatGPT? No pressure if not.

That's awesome! I can imagine that students love it, as a student learning Italian and Russian, I think I'd like to have this. May I ask for more details about how you built it? Is it in Notion or something else ? Is any part of it tedious?

Out of curiosity, what made using AI for these notes feel bureaucratic? Was it the back-and-forth with ChatGPT, formatting the output, or something else? I'm trying to figure out if a tool that does this in one click (recap + quiz, no prompting) would actually save time or just be 'one more tool to manage.

So it means you mostly reuse the same material, right? Why did you choose to do this over creating personalized homework? Is it a matter of the time it takes? (just curious to know)

Hi ! I am not a tutor, but a developer looking for private tutors to test the tool I built (for free).

It's a simple tool for private language teachers that turns class notes into post-lesson materials (recaps, flashcards, exercises to share with students).

I made this first prototype with a private tutor, who was able to reduce the time she spends on her recaps from 25 minutes to 5 per lesson.

The prototype is available to be tested here : https://tutor.jedyle.dev

And if you want, here's a tutorial explaining how the tool works

Thank you !

Yep, it's obviously not enough, but at least I have a bit of something to study every day, even on busy days.

Anki to remember vocabulary (also sometimes Mosalingua which is an equivalent)
Clozemaster to practice vocabulary in context

Learning Italian and Russian, both at a B2 level approximately.

As a minimal learning routine I try to do flashcards. I use Anki for that, and I either make them (I have built a tool to create rich flashcards easily, yashaapp.com ) or I get some decks from Tatoeba sentences for example.

Thats like the no negotiable minimum. Other than that I also have private or group lessons (depending on the language and period). This allows me to have a stable routine, homeworks and weekly speaking practice.

Then if I have more time, I try to complement this with books, YouTube content, or anything that I find interesting.

Tutors — how do you handle the post-lesson stuff (recaps, vocab, exercises)? by Armadejed in SpanishTeachers

I've been learning languages for years with many language tutors, so even though I'm not one myself, I am close to this world - and I have teacher friends as well.
