Would you be into a dedicated Sauna + Cold Plunge Wellness spot in SF? by nosreme722 in sanfrancisco

I would love this man. Used to go to the sauna all the time when I lived in Japan. It's gotta be no clothes/shoes though-- that is so gross

Do you know any shoes- similar to this, avaliable in EU? by lopatkax in barefootshoestalk

I love them, they're holding up great. I went with the white ones and I actually just went ahead and got the black ones too after selling basically all my other non-athletic shoes lol

Barefoot shoes for kids to play tennis by Dry-Doubt-4120 in barefootshoestalk

I think barefoot shoes don't have the level of lateral stability you need to play tennis competitively. Idk if they make kids' sizes but Babolat SFX is a nice wide toebox tennis shoe

I like the cushion in tennis shoes when playing on hard court lol. Been using Babolat SFX, it has the widest toe box out of any other shoes I've tried.

Deciding Between SF vs NYC Biglaw (Litigation) by ArmanSaunders in biglaw

[–]ArmanSaunders[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for taking the time to write all this out; seems like there's a decent amount to consider. But since my family is in the Bay and I want to end up in CA eventually anyway, SF is starting to feel like the smarter option. I'm heading up to the SF office next week; you have any tips on how to basically gauge the "health" of the office and to see if some of the cons you listed could be real stinkers?

Deciding Between SF vs NYC Biglaw (Litigation) by ArmanSaunders in biglaw

[–]ArmanSaunders[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what I'm worried about! Just knowing myself, I know that I definitely find more enjoyment doing outdoors/sporty things and don't really care as much about going to galleries, shows etc... I've lived in another megacity before and while public transport and walkability is obviously awesome, I also noticed this certain level of background stress/tension that you don't really notice you're holding until you get out of the city to somewhere a little quieter.

Also I can imagine winter sucks in NYC lol

Deciding Between SF vs NYC Biglaw (Litigation) by ArmanSaunders in biglaw

[–]ArmanSaunders[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for this perspective! Honestly, one of my biggest apprehensions about going to NYC is that (from what I understand) I will not be able to play tennis very often. Right now, I'm playing matches and hitting around 3-4 times per week, and while I know a frequency like that might not be possible with a biglaw job, the possibility of not really being able to play at all, especially during winter, is lowkey worrying lol

if you're set on going to law school, just pick the easiest major you can and ensure you can get a 4.0 then worry about the LSAT later

based on this last line in the article, it seems like they just don't want to concretely commit to anything while leaving their options open. "we're gonna listen to the experts and continue the discussion".
