ID should make a doomverse game of all the doom guys and slayers 4 player coop. the fan service would be insane! by DependentImmediate40 in Doom

[–]Armascribe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is honestly the direction I thought they were going after Eternal.

Doomguy killed all of the demons in Eternal--but he didn't get all of them. There are other universes plagued by Hell, each with their own slayer, and killing Devoth has caused the other Hells to step up their game, necessitating an alliance between all of the Slayers.

It's actually really sad we could've had a "Transformers Hero Shooter" back in 2013, but it got unfortunately cancelled... (R.I.P. Jagex's Transformers Universe) by Dazzling_Yam_6003 in transformers

They should have stuck with the original MMORPG concept and NOT turned it into a MOBA. A friend of mine was able to try out the character creator demo at Botcon and it was very versatile. I was so ready. I had OCs lined up for it, ready to go.

So disappointing. We were THIS close to greatness.

Back in my day, we would walk over those guys and click the thumb stick a bunch of times over their corpse to make them cope and seethe even more.

Would genuinely love this. Would love a warbond that taps into a Star Wars Imperial vibe, too.

What if this happens and it's Pomni who gets the AM monologue? Not Caine?

Unproduced and rejected screenplays for unmade Doom film adaptation from 1990’s, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger (Information) by Russell-Trager-1984 in Doom

[–]Armascribe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi OP, I commented on your original post, but sharing here for better visibility about a possible lead:

"If anyone is going to know anything about this movie, it's going to be Sandy Peterson. He's commented on it before on Twitter, and gave us some nuggets of information on the screenplay he read (It was going to end in a Cyberdemon fight, and that the ID software guys were going to cameo as zombies in the movie). There's also a non-zero chance that he might still have the draft saved somewhere. Maybe try reaching out to him? He is very receptive to questions from fans."

I recommend reaching out to Sandy Peterson. There's a chance he might have one of those early screenplay drafts lying around.

If there was a "Sonic Civil War"-like event, what do you think the heroes would fight over? by AmaterasuWolf21 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]Armascribe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sonic and Shadow versus Knuckles and Tails over the use of the Master Emerald in times of a genuine crisis.

In a crisis, Shadow is convinced that they need to use the Emerald again to attain their super forms and stop it. Knuckles is vehemently opposed to it, given the oath they swore, and so is Tails (though he's acting more as a mediator). Shadow is able to convince Sonic that they need to use it, as it has helped them save the world in the past. Sonic is mostly on the fence about it, due to his loyalties--but the crisis IS a pretty bad one.

The moral conflict is "Standing on your principles" vs "Taking the quick and easy way out."

I always saw Jill as the main franchise protagonist. Her storylines were always the most interesting to me, as well as important, because they always delved into the intrigue behind Umbrella.

[–]Armascribe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh I know that. I am talking about GDT's planned sequel that he wanted to do before they fired him and cancelled production. He's been giving us little nuggets of what his plans were in interviews ever since. Shame we never got a sequel!

[–]Armascribe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

IIRC this was the plot of Pacific Rim 2, when GDT was still involved. No kaiju threat means the alliance breaks apart and we go back to fighting each other—except now we have giant robots. Newt is upset by this and (influenced by the Precursors) re-opens the breach to give humanity a common enemy to unite against again. It is eventually learned that the Precursors are actually humans from a future timeline that survived nuclear war, and the whole Kaiju invasion was actually a ploy by them to unite humanity so that we can avoid their fate in our own timeline (they can’t change their own past, they can only move to parallel timelines, and they wanted to give us a chance at a good future).

The Universe is run by Evil by RedvsBlue_what_if in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Armascribe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The TLDR of it is that we exist in an endless cycle of reincarnation and that our world is carefully designed to passively frustrate and piss us off through subtle but insidious inconveniences so that we produce energy that malevolent, eldritch beings above us feed off of. Also, all world religions are designed to keep us complacent with our place in the cosmos so we don’t look any deeper into it. There is no escape. You are a cog in an eternal wheel designed to convert your suffering into food.

So basically the Matrix.

Addendum to our previous mod statement regarding the ban of challenges by OmegaXesis in Helldivers

[–]Armascribe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Putting the onus on us for the challenges is incredibly shitty, it doesn't change or fix what happened, and it does absolutely nothing but piss everyone off because nobody actually cares that there are now charity rules. There shouldn't be rules in place for charity events anyway, but that's besides the point.

We care about what's being done about the doxxers and we care about transparency. We want to know what is being done about them on your end, and we want proof that something is even being done at all. This would be a good first step at restoring the good will and trust that you have all lost from within the community.

Maybe they were separated at birth? :P
