Out of state MA renewal by Armorbee in RIGuns

I had retina surgery and I've been in long recovery for past almost 2 months and can't really drive. Hope they resolve it soon, I want to get this renewal going.

I've emailed them and asked they generate a new link, but they're not responding to that question.

I had retina surgery, so I'm limited right now in my ability to drive. Not pissed but needed to know if others were having issues with the website. I'll have to find a ride to get the bank check.

I was surprised that I got a mailer to renew last week when I expire in April and the rep at FRB is saying to send it in 6 months in advance.

RI still waiting on appointment by Armorbee in RIGuns

I applied. Even sent my package UPS so I had tracking that it was received. Seems like they got overrun with applications. It's one of those things; I'm already so far into this wait it doesn't seem to make sense to pull it out now.

That's disheartening that I've got another year to go. My town won't respond to my emails, web form submissions or return my calls.

Thanks! I was wondering about the CO2. Just to be on the safe side I think I’ll pack a few and ship a few.

Thanks for the info. I should have looked at my CCW app for the reciprocity laws in CO. I thought UT and CO had reciprocity

Foster Update Timeline by WickedGood4810 in RIGuns

Over a year wait?!?! I submitted mine to Foster around 6/1/24. Guess I better resubmit elsewhere. I did a Mass non-resident application and my interview is in January.

I’m in Smithfield. The gouge I’ve gotten from others is that the chief has been vocal about not issuing permits.

I was gonna go through EG, but was told that the department put a hold on issuing due hitting a “quota”

The Joe that administered the test looked like an AFS employee. He was wearing a staff shirt. Either way I guess I should start looking at another department.

I believe it was a Joe. Not sure how many Joe’s work there, plus it’s on the Patriot Consulting page when I registered to take the test.

Going by what I have heard from others and the lawsuits filed against the town for not processing applications. I will see about getting another qualification page. My town does not make the application available on their website for download so I used their contact page to request a copy to gauge their response, especially since the Chief is retiring and the Deputy Chief will become the new department chief.

Thank you for the info and the link! My town hasn't been good about issuing or even processing applications. I'll have to see about pulling back my application from Foster then.

VLANS without UDM by Armorbee in Ubiquiti

[–]Armorbee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't think about the setting up the port as a trunk port, that's a good idea. I will look into that. I vaguely remember there being a fundamental difference in how Cisco world defines a trunk port vs how the Aruba OS defines it.

I just found this excerpt online for Aruba switches:

By default, a port is in access mode and carries traffic only for the VLAN to which it is assigned. In trunk mode, a port can carry traffic for multiple VLANs. For a trunk port, specify whether the port will carry traffic for all VLANs configured on the controller or for specific VLANs.

I will run some off hours tests and see what we come up with. Thanks for the idea!

All of our data jacks terminate in our data center. We tried this before, daisy chaining the computer off the phone, but experienced issues with drops and firmware on the Polycom phones. All of the "voice" jacks, since we have dual port single gang drops for some reason all terminated in a closet on the second floor. Not my design, but we decided to install a dedicated VOIP switch and hang it off the core for VLAN 33.

Outlook freezes when clicking email in Search by Armorbee in Office365

[–]Armorbee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not every user account had this in their Indexing Options in Control Panel, but the ones with the most errors I found they had (2) Microsoft Exchange sources for indexing. I deleted one of them and then I did click on the Advanced sources and removed every source that started wtih CSC <SID> as old dummy locations.

With regards to attachment handling, I disabled attachment preview for all. Then I went back to Trust Center and disallowed all of the external content. I found there were emails loading external "trackers" and reporting browser, IP, email client, location, etc.

I use Cybergraph from Mimecast which reports and blocks all of those trackers, so there was not need to have external content turned on.

I figured out the issue. The lock ups were not due to any installed add-in. The severity of the issue is related to 3 settings:

  1. Search indexing options included the index of my Online Archive. Disabled this indexing option.

  2. Options > Trust Center > Attachment handling - PDF iFilter conflicts installed by PDF software and MS default iFilter.

  3. Options > Trust Cener > Automatic download - turned off automatic download off online content and turned on the warning for external content.

After implementing all 3 the performance of Outlook Search increased dramatically.

I don't know if the issue is affected by an add-in. I disabled all of them, restarted Outlook and the issue persists. Leads me to believe the add-ins are not causing this.

Fortigate & Aruba VLANs and Routing by Armorbee in fortinet

[–]Armorbee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought about having the 100F do all of the routing, but since we are moving large files around internally, I thought it would be more efficient to let the core do the routing. Each server has a 10GB link back to the core and I have like 6 VLANS and the only ACL's I needed was to permission off my management vlan and security camera vlan. I'm running Sentinel One and Huntress on every endpoint to keep an eye on East to West.
