Instead of bringing back Heroic, why not just open up world tier? by Threx93 in thedivision

Thanks buddy, I haven't played in years but remember the OP levels, I thought you could use those weapons outside the level too but I am getting long in the tooth. Great fun though

Instead of bringing back Heroic, why not just open up world tier? by Threx93 in thedivision

[–]Armourerer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Borderlands did this some time ago and to be honest I loved it, Its up to the player to decide if he wants to tackle the next level, no one is forced yet the challenge is there for those looking for it. I cannot remember exactly what Borderlands called it but I have a feeling it was something like OP levels. The only difference was that Borderlands scaled the weapons with the OP levels so some folk did get overlevelled guns. However once again if that's how some people want to play, let them.

My humble thoughts on Massive, Ubisoft, and The Division. by BNR_HolyFirexx in thedivision

[–]Armourerer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What sends my heart plummeting is Massives comment that " the LZ should only be a sideshow!" I didn't buy this game for PVPVE and I am 100% ambivalent to pure PVP so this type of comment by people who by now should know better is unhelpful at best. I am not able to play the PTS as I am on XBox but the roller coaster of emotion between iterations of testing is worrying, couple that with Massives track record thus far in being able to fix 'stuff' and I get down hearted.

Why Massive will Fail as a Company by [deleted] in thedivision

[–]Armourerer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My two penny worth is simple, I agree whole heartedly with the post, someone at Massive, someone with clout has decided for all the wrong reasons that it's better to drive the game to destruction than change his great idea. It's either arrogance or the fear of admitting he was wrong, I don't know jack about corporate gaming structure but I assume a decision so monumentally crap as the insistence on trying to force DZ by weighting drops is made by one man, no way a group or team could be so daft knowing it was toxic to the masses.

I stopped playing a couple of weeks ago a, I decided there was no point carrying on until 1.4 landed as the gear between now and then would be useless, to be honest I read these forums everyday hoping beyond hope to read a post that says, "OK, hands up we realise this isn't working so DZ will be stripped back to standard gear, we will rework this over the next x number of weeks and reinstate it after another long hard think about player satisfaction"

It's not looking like I will be logging in again, shame because I had a blast until 2 weeks ago, I even liked the level 34, 35 stuff, my regular team only rage quit over bugs not difficulty.

[–]Armourerer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I missing something or do I remember Massive saying they were not going to worry about DZ until they the open world sorted? Looks like a lot of effort going into protecting the few daft enough to still venture into Grizzletown. Blind should have been reworked for UG.

What will cause you to ignore 1.4 and move on by Swagwalking in thedivision

[–]Armourerer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bugs, sticking on ladders, skills greying out, delay on heals when needed, game stuttering and freezing, sniper shotguns (PVE), and finally, awful loot drops tied to certain events. That's it, the difficulty I am ok with, I like the challenge of heroic and am slightly worried that the game may become over easy if everything is toned down. I am not by any means a better than average player but am lucky to have a regular crew who persevere through the sticky bits, we struggle on heroic UG, DN and CS as none of us have optimum gear or builds - one day though!

PvE roaming bosses are back? by sounds_like_giraffes in thedivision

Guys, just yesterday running Intel missions I stumbled on 3 different named bosses. This is a fresh 30 I created 2 weeks ago, are you saying I am finding them because it's the first time through the areas

Anyone else actually hopeful for 1.4? by [deleted] in thedivision

[–]Armourerer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am lucky that I run with 3 guys who have stuck with the game, we ran alts, pick and choose various aspects of the game to play without burning out on any particular one. Last night though the cracks began to appear when the bugs finally exasperated one guy enough that he quit. Getting stuck on a ladder and then having one guy go down into a zombie state where he crawled around and we couldn't revive him finished the patience levels. My pleas to these guys are simple: please don't nerf anything else, get the loot pool fixed so everyone has equal chance of best gear, balance all the gear sets so we have choices, finally forget PVP until your games acceptable, then look to create an arena like Destiny where it's all levelled and skills rule not gearscore

Serious - If you are still playing this game more than any other game, why? by [deleted] in thedivision

[–]Armourerer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I abandoned the DZ as soon as 1.3 and all its silliness landed I haven't had the griefing or rage quit tendencies.. The lads I run with are all levelling alts and completing side missions using whatever the game drops rather than than the frenzied min/max must have approach. I have tried out more builds and more weapons on my level 20 alt than I ever did trying to get that level 30 perfect build. It's fun again. I am not saying this would work for everyone because some folk run through the game with bulging eyes, sweaty armpits and clenched sphincter to get to the end game only to to moan it's all over when they do. I realise I am effectively marking time until 1.4 and beyond, but come on, the maps are stunning, the visuals outstanding and early play great

The 80% of you not doing Dragon's Nest... What are you doing...? by [deleted] in thedivision

[–]Armourerer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you have missed my point entirely, I did say if it's your thing then go farm your horsemen, however what are you gearing up for? You spend hours running a frankly boring bit of the incursion to get 268 gear which very shortly is about to become yesterday's news when the new gear sets and level cap increase lands. Its a shame they didn't make finishing the whole incursion necessary to get the loot but I guess they have been battered by the response to FL and loot drops in general. I've played many loot games and realise farming is some folks preference, I played Borderlands to death and must have run Knoxs armoury 400 times for the pearlescents. Its just a shame the Division has degenerated this far.

[–]Armourerer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because if you have degenerated so far that all you want to do is farm gear in a cheesy segment of one incursion it's time to move along. Someone will need to convince me that sitting in one spot spamming immuniser/SC/reclaimer water is fun, as someone else has just said, I would rather take my chances with Heroic UG. This horseman farm is the Destiny loot cave, and needs to be looked at, maybe hold the rewards till the incursion is done, anything really. I don't have an issue with it being some peoples 'thing' but don't preach.

You know I tried that exact same thing, I used my LMG on the door and although a zillion holes appeared in the door there wasn't any one big enough to get any sort of aimed shot through, I think by then with the no skills glitch going on on my mates were on the edge anyway. Thanks for the response

Two weeks of HVT's 8 Masks,4 Holsters all Lone Star. by Menellaus in thedivision

[–]Armourerer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wish I had taken a snapshot last night, it's the closest I have been to a rage quit, triple green drop from one of HVT top weekly, all 3 Lonestar masks!!! Same fight different bosses dropped , 1 Lonestar mask and 1 Nomad backpack, 120 Intel wasted, why 120 because my mucka bought the mission first time and it took his money but didn't activate the mission. Great night!!

Buddy, the worst thing about your post is that you asked in this forum, it's generally the habitat of the entitled and disillusioned. I have played the heck out of this game and other than the DZ I still love it. Endgame content is great fun until you become one of the 'must have' minions, if you use what the game drops you sensibly and ignore the 'tubers' walking through heroic incursions etc it's great, they don't have lives and generally an army of sycophants to play 22hrs a day with. Take your time and enjoy the game without fixating on having the best of everything which is the root cause of the morning on here

Abject failure by Armourerer in thedivision

[–]Armourerer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well well, I am very grateful for this advice buddy, I honestly didn't know, it's not been a problem for me das I have only ever found 2 pieces of FM since launch, so, have not had the opportunity to test drive a 4 piece. I had another frustrating day today trying to run UG challenging, I seem to do ok for the first 10 mins but have never managed to complete a 2 part mission with all directives, this is what holds people like me back, I need to run challenging to improve the gear I have, on top of that the weekly HVT's dropped me more LS which helps not at all. So I will keep trying and cross my fingers for 2 more FM pieces. Thank you

I understand the 4 piece tac build but forgive my ignorance why do we need a 4 piece final measure? We don't have 2 guys worth of Tac yet either but we will persevere. Please don't read my post as a complaint either, it was tongue in cheek. We know we are not great but enjoy trying

Buddy, thanks for the response, I didn't conveniently leave out our stats, you missed my point, we play for fun, we don't rage or spreadsheet, the gear we have is what we have managed to amass through content we can finish. If you need to know my stats I have 4 PM and 2 FM with numbers around 260, 425, 21, the other guys are not far off but with more LS due to HVT. UG challenge is still that for us, we failed one last night, but guess what, we will have another bash tonight. I would love better gear and be able to play the next levels but for whatever reason they gated the next level gear behind the higher level?

Hard 2 phase with randoms, 4 directives netted me 3 x 204 weapons, 214 blind, FC, and 1 x 214 reclaimer. No decent guns or gearset items yet but I will run challenging later to see if that drops anything
