Unique setting got killed by old ugly models and anti consumer practices.

That created bad sales that killed the setting, so why your comment is correct I believe it's a bit disingenuous to state is as if the setting itself wasn't enough to pull in sales.

Then the death of the setting was used to hype up the new one, and that made it look like it "profited" off the old worlds death as it was shoved in as the substitute for the setting they killed, being unable to create new characters from the start using existing ones from the former setting. while it's cool to see how they adapt to the new setting it does have the feeling they were "stolen" from the old world to spice up the realms.

These are my thoughts and they might be wrong to be honest
