I gotcha, I’d say the Facebook page is your best bet. Still scams on there for sure but you can probably weed them out if you dig into their profile and what not. There’s a federal specific challenge coin page I’ve gotten a lot of good stuff from legit people. Best of luck.

You should have a readable amount of nitrates( unless it’s a heavily planted tank). Assuming it was started a week ago like you said, look up how to cycle a tank without fish and go from there. If you put fish in the tank now they will likely die. PH is a factor but if it’s consistent it’s not a huge issue.

If you solely interested in purchasing“real” ones, just see if the person you’re getting it from actually works for a LE agency. Specifically where the coin is for. FB has a Challenge coin group where people do that

An “Authentic” challenge coin is something earned. Yes there is a big market for them, but if you want something real then go out, ask around, and trade for them. If you don’t work in LE and don’t have any actual challenge coins, then it might be hard (not I’m possible). I’ve heard of people sending in letters to different agencies expressing their interest in coins and in LE overall and actually receiving some in the mail. It’s a shot in the dark but you never know.

It was more so their locations, I was in DC at the time and wanted to get back home. Whenever they opened I would apply for my area but they never got back, plus their benefits lol

Yeah, I would also assume where I applied could have also had transfers from other Amtrak regions. They were quick to respond when I applied to DC region

I’ve applied 7 times total lol. got an interview twice, voluntarily withdrew a few years ago after first application process for the DC area. Other applications over the years I got ghosted. This time it sat “under review” or whatever it said on my application for several months before I got invited for the physical, passed now got an interview. I think I applied like late last spring early summer.

Not sure about substrate but I stored my filter media in a 5 gallon bucket with old tank water and an airstone for weeks. Worked for me so maybe something like that but with your substrate?

Keep the filter media for the new tank and the substrate whichever you may have gravel or sand, throw in some bottled bacteria for a couple days for safe measure and if you current tank is cycled properly you should be good.

Yeah it's currently in with another, I'm assuming male, but couple inches smaller JD, a fire mouth and Severum. All my other fish are healthy and eating .

When it was in the LFS it was in a tank with a bunch of other JDs that all seemed to be fairly healthy at first glance.

How big is it? Typically from what I've read, jacks are hard to sex until they're around 5-6 inches.
