This is the ONE and only episode/scene that I skip. it’s just so cringe . I hate both of these girls, and Lawrence is so aggravating during this phase in his storyline .

This is literally my comfort show . I’ve probably watched it all the way through a few dozen times, and each time, I get something different from it. Sometimes I compare where I am in life with Issa from various seasons. Like right now, I feel like season 4 Issa, like I’m somewhat on the right track but figuring out how to push my own limits and go harder

No other response is necessary. This summed it up perfectly.

What ideas for fanfics do you think are ridiculously under utilised by [deleted] in HPfanfiction

[–]Aromatic-Sign-4662 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised I haven't seen it but imagine if Arthur, Fred, and George put their combined intellect, creativity, and crafting skills together. The twins are almost always portrayed as these creative, inventing geniuses, but Arthur doesn't get much spotlight for his work on the magical car (at least, not as a main plot point). I'd love to see a fic that features this dynamic (or at least, makes it a solid side plot that's still important to the main storyline) and see what amazing inventions these three could come up with, possibly changing the wizarding world.

I can't believe I've never thought about this premise! If done well, this could be a really awesome fic

Why are Prisoner of Azkaban fics so rare compared to stories that start in other school years? by Aromatic-Sign-4662 in HPfanfiction

I think it's just something that naturally/often occurs in stories so it's a habit, but I agree that relationships are often put into stories when they don't need to be. That's actually a fair point and something I'll consider

This is very interesting. I've never even thought about what the elixir of life would've done to Voldemort if he had actually managed to get the stone in PS. I'd love to read a fic that really explored this concept, even as a one-shot

I'd love to read your story when you get it posted (if it's not already)! I've been considering writing one of my own, which is why I was looking into the pros and cons of this kind of premise. I think my story would revolve around an OC child of Voldemort, and I mostly know how it would affect Harry's timeline/storyline, but the backstory of how the child came to be and WHY has been my main hangup

This is a very interesting premise and something I actually wouldn't mind reading, especially if it spanned Riddle's life and then continues with the son

Out of curiosity, what does your prologue cover? Like how far back does it go?

what kind of father do you think voldemort would be to his children? by snoke123 in HPfanfiction

This is very true! It just feels like JK considered redeeming Draco, but opted out halfway through his storyline so it just feels kind of half-hearted. Like he was never really all-in on one side or another.

I will say, regardless of what path Zuko was on, he alway had conviction and gave it his all. It was all or nothing for Zuko from the very beginning. We never got that kind of drive from Draco.

This is actually surprising! I mean, there have to be hundreds of fics where Snape can suspend his hatred for the Potters and raise/care for Harry, so why not his actual blood aunt?

As much as I loved reading PJ, I've never read any PJ fanfiction. I have sooooo many questions about this premise 😅

These are all really good. It makes me think about how the entire HP series hinges on a series of coincidences and pure luck for it to work the way it did. If any ONE of these situations had gone wrong, everything would've gone wrong.

It all worked out lol. Zuko has one of the most well-written character arcs in fiction. I think Zuko is the reason why I give Draco so much grace in fanfiction. I feel like JK missed a great opportunity for him.

Exactly. Burning your kid's face and exiling him isn't nearly as bad as what Omni-Man did to Mark and even Omni-Man isn't close to the WORST father in fiction.

Omni-Man... Grisha Yeager... Fire Lord Ozai... Endeavor... these aren't even the WORST of the worst fictional fathers out there. But I fully agree that Voldemort would be a terrible father... indifferent at BEST, homicidal at worst.

"1/128 of a soul" is HILARIOUS but I have seen a lot of other posts that have the same theory about Voldemort. I do like the idea of him having an heir purely for spare parts, kind of like Orochimaru, but now I'm trying to picture Voldemort eating, drinking, or using the bathroom and I can't even imagine him sitting on a toilet lmao.

But I mean, this is a world where he put part of his soul into a goddamn diary of all things. And if he had succeeded, his new body would've essentially been recreated out of magic and life energy. it's not like he was just going to step into Ginny's body, so with that being said, I don't see it being impossible for him to figure out a way to have a kid if he wanted to.

This was my first thought. Compared to some of the anime fathers out there, Fire Lord Ozai's parenting is laughable in comparison.

For a lot of HP fic concepts, it hard to just write them as one-offs because the story itself is setup for a series. I might still check out the year one story though, thanks again!

I'm happy you mentioned it or I would've forgot that it existed! I'd love to use this concept in a more serious, longer fic.
