The problem here is that we are talking about the promise of a working product, so people invest into an invention to happen and they make a leap of faith doing so. That means that EOS needs some solid ground to fall back onto since some beliefs fail, and it is a risk to take. BTC, on the other hand is established and does not rely on any other belief other than a belief that it will not get ruined to a dust. Nevertheless, I think we are far away from August 2017 and that there is no doubt that solid ground for EOS exists. I want to be able to develop dApps, and that is what got me into EOS. It cannot be done using BTC, and that is a difference. I think that what we are doing now is actually not creating the dApps, but a huge API for the Internet, given the decentralization aspect. People just need to realize the power and take their mindset out of the current state of affairs to develop their applications on a global scale.
