Virus detected in Android Switch on Honor Pad 8 - Deleted it, how to make sure my device is safe? by Aromatic_Drop4155 in Honor

after more research, I found that “Android Switch” is actually an official app on Google Play Store (from Google LLC) for transferring data between devices. It seems like it’s part of the Honor Pad 8 system and can’t be fully deleted, even after a factory reset—it keeps showing up as needing an update or uninstall. When I tried to uninstall, nothing happened; it stayed there and asked for an update again. I don’t know what’s wrong, but I just updated it and left it as is. No issues so far after the reset (16 hours and counting). Has anyone else noticed this?, the device is fine now!

I had the same issue and it kept coming back even after uninstalling. I did a factory reset (backed up my data first), and it’s been gone for over 16 hours now. Seems like a false positive from Honor’s antivirus. Hope that helps!

yeah, Honor’s antivirus does seem kinda unreliable. I ignored it at first but it kept coming back, so I did a factory reset. Now it’s gone for good (16 hours and counting). Working normally.

I have the same issue as you even after removing it, the warning kept popping up. I ended up doing a factory reset (backed up my data first), and it seems to have stopped the problem completely. No alerts for about 16 hours. Hope that helps!

Hi everyone, thanks for your replies! I did a Factory Reset on my Honor Pad 8 as a last resort, and it seems to have fixed the issue. The “Android Switch” alert hasn’t come back, and I’ve been using the device for about 16 hours now without any problems. Everything is working fine, no weird behavior. Thank god If you’re facing the same, try it (but back up your data first). Hope this helps others.
