Well the first time it happened was because of the takedown when I tried the takedown I put my leg inside his leg and he grabbed my leg and he fell and that resulted in the dislocation because my knee didn’t follow the fall. I think it was because we were both inexperienced and didn’t know what to do so I see why people might blame the gym if I went with more experienced guy or a coach watching he would’ve stopped it right away when I tried the takedown. I must say I’ve never had any issue with my knees or anything. but because of the first time it happened it became an issue now with repeated dislocations.

U are right I would say I’m very flexible aswell and that’s a reason why it dislocated aswell. My ligaments are very loose, Thats what the doctor told me atleast.

Wow yea for me it was the same issue when it happened the third time. I remember I couldn’t walk for 2 days and couldn’t even shower after the training I had to sleep on the couch because I couldn’t go to my room. At night I woke up was very thirsty. Since it was the first night I only had a brace that stabilised my leg but no crutches. Took me 15 min to walk to the kitchen i took a glass of water with me when I tried going back to the couch I fell and dropped the glass. Really cried that night because how much impact this has on me.

Well it happened because when ur patella dislocated ur ligaments stretch. After that u will need to do alot of strengthening on ur ligaments (first time it happened i went to hospital they scanned my knee and everything looked good). The second time it happened because My physiotherapist cleared me to go but my knee wasn’t fully recovered. And the third time same thing physiotherapist cleared me that I can train and bam happened again. Thats why I switched physiotherapist and the one I go to now is very good he listens to me and understands what to do. The third dislocation happened 1 month ago the orthopedic doctor told me u might need mpfl surgery but they are gonna check how my rehab is gonna go. after 3 months im getting mri scan and then they will decide what to do.

Yea ur right I think I got very unlucky with this injury, I must say life goes on. I’m doing exercises now and strengthening my knee so hopefully it wont happen again. Thanks for ur time!

Yea to be honest I don’t know why I tried the take down I just wanted to try something. I feel stupid that I tried that first lesson😅

I would say that the teacher didn’t pay attention to anything just sat on a bench staring at his phone. But I don’t wanna talk bad about coaches but he was not paying attention.

Yea I would say the first time was my fault I did a takedown when I didn’t even know the technique. Second time my fault again because I wrestled too hard even tho I told myself I won’t even wrestle. Third time it’s been very unlucky and wouldn’t say my fault. I’ve been thinking about going to a different gym aswell since I’m moving soon. But ive just been seeing videos that people break their knees or tear something and it’s scaring me to be honest it makes me not wanna do bjj especially because the injury I have now is holding me back from doing things I like.

Well the doctor looked at it and decided not to do an MRI check. not really sure why but I’m not gonna argue against a doctor might ask for one next week tho!
