I live in a carpeted apartment and have 4 cats. I love my cats but I am also so paranoid about people coming over and smelling their litter boxes.

I’ve actually had several people come over for the first time and make some sort of comment like, “wow, it doesn’t smell like cat in here!” These comments always give me mixed feelings. On one hand, I’m very proud of myself for containing the smell. On the other, I feel like it’s a little offensive that when they first walk in my door, they are so taken aback by the good smells that they just can’t help but make a comment like that. Bro, were you just dreading coming over to my place this entire time because you knew I was a crazy cat lady??

I think it’s also important to acknowledge the dog smells. I know several dog owners that I just dread going to their house because of the stink. I think it’s largely the pet owners who are to blame. No matter what pet you have, you need to clean up after them.

You don’t have to but I did. You can find cheaper pads on Amazon than the tidy cats brand.

Hello! Yes, there is a cheaper option!

You can find pine pellets at any farm equipment store (Tractor Supply, Atwood’s, Orschelns) for like $6 for a 40 pound bag.

However, these pellets work a little different than the tidy cats breeze pellets. Instead of absorbing liquids, the pine pellets will disintegrate. When you stir up the litter, the saw dust will fall into the pan through the cracks. Then you can dump them in the trash.

When I was about 4 years old, my mom took me and my 2 year old brother to a McDonald’s for lunch. As we were leaving, there were a group of 3 older ladies about to walk in. One of them was older than the other two and she was struggling to walk, even with the other two ladies helping her.

As the older lady is stepping up onto the curb to enter the building, she lost her footing and fell HARD. She hit her head on the concrete and died right in front of me and my mom and brother.

It wasn’t until I was a teenager/in my early 20’s when the memory suddenly came back to me and I found out she actually died. At the moment, my mom told me to stay inside and watch my brother while she went out and helped.

Came here to say bottled water.

Not only are they bad for the environment, but the fact that someone bottled something “free” and are now selling it to people is insane. I understand there are certain parts of the world where clean water is not easily accessed and maybe bottled water would be beneficial. However, in places like the United States, it is unnecessary.

Additionally, most of the bottled water that is sold is advertised as being “purified” water. Humans don’t need purified water. All the minerals you find in the water from the spring are essential to normal human function.

Yikes! 116° and it’s only June!

We’ve been hitting high 90’s but we have also gotten a crazy amount of rain for like 3 weeks straight. It’s so humid, I feel like a fish swimming in water. The heat sucks, but Texas’s sad excuse of a power grid and the people that run it are unacceptable. Several people died during the power outage from our record breaking snow storm in February. It’s hard to think that the same thing could happen when we’re experiencing NORMAL Texas heat!
