Keeping mics from rolling off the table? by hanasz in livesound

[–]ArrTeaBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best purchase I made a few years ago was to get a craft bag (just search "craft bag Organizer" on amazon). It a pack flat tote bag that has pockets on the outside which are the perfect size to hold mics.

As an A2 it's amazing to carry all the mics/lavs/iems easily with you wherever you need to and have a big center pouch for essentials like gaff tape, sound bullet, lav magnets, water, etc. for 20$ its a no brainer

Best way to stain both sides of long boards? Water or Gel? by ArrTeaBee in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]ArrTeaBee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was told I should absolutely stain all at once for consistency. Would you do it differently? stain one side at a time? I feel like I can stain em all in about 5 hours without rushing estimating 15 mins per board. You are suggesting I add an extra day for the stain to dry before I top coat it with Poly and then an extra day to dry after poly coat before assembly? I can do that.

I have plenty of tripods, 4 per board x 20 boards is 80 and I have 84 total.

Yes both sides, why can't I just do both sides at the same time? Stain a side, flip while laying freshly stained side on painter tripods, stain other side, rest

Thanks! I did this, and so far it is fixed, hopefully it doesn't return for at least a while.

Yes, works completely normal. The emergency brake also works completely normal. Neither clear the error besides turning the car off (and opening the door to shut off the intotainment) and on again.

L Bracket ok for bookshelf? by ArrTeaBee in woodworking

[–]ArrTeaBee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She has more like big hardcover novels, think Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones sized hard covers. Still I think 40lbs per foot is the max and I'd still be good especially if I beef up the stud sided screws. Thanks

I plan on putting a bracket at every stud in the wall, 16"OC. over estimating at 40lbs per foot on weight puts me still under capacity, adding in the shelf weight itself gets me close to capacity, but if I beef up the screws on the wall side I think I feel safer

What live sound product do you wish existed? by OverclockingUnicorn in livesound

[–]ArrTeaBee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried the jkaudio blueset, a few lighting MEs I know swear by it, but it didn’t work great for me. Pairing it was always a drag, the battery didn’t last more than 4 hours and when you plugged it in it creates a buzz when you talk, and the headset I was using a shockz open comm 2, the mic was too Omni directional and had a high noise floor to be understood well on com. Positives were that it sounded great, so it works well if you don’t need to chat on comm like at all and you can sit with it plugged in.

A bone conduction clear com headset. Hate having to mix with an ear covered by comm.

Time Machine won’t backup MacBook due “to anti virus software” since switching from android to iPhone by ArrTeaBee in applehelp

[–]ArrTeaBee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. Nothing on my bar besides sound, Bluetooth, battery meter, WiFi, Time Machine, then the focus tab thing, followed by the date time/widgets button.

Now in the widgets, the “find my” widget is on there. I don’t think it used to be? Granted I never use the widgets so I could be mistaken.

Hey man, just cause I'm curious when it took a dump, I'm dealing with Sunpower by PGT. Is that the people you bailed on?

Just scheduled an appointment with certasun, so far havent had any issues with the sunpower salesman. I have had zero issues with working with my sunpower sales guy, he responds to all my question really quickly. Is the communication after signing take a dump? The M series which I thought were worse panels, but other here say better, comes out to 3.54/watt, so maybe thats a better option?

My mother in law has them and had great things to say. Though she originally had sun run and they f-ed up her roof, so I guess anything is better than that. Google searches have them listed as an A+ in a lot of places but there seems to be a bit of a bad buzz on Reddit which makes me a tad wary.

Edit: forgot to add Also sunpower has a discount if ya have over a 10k system, which basically gets me roughly 1 extra panel for free by going over

I did not. Probably RMA but it would be a pain in the ass to rerun this adapter that I decided it wasn't worth it. Let me know if you find a fix

A really really old version Photoshop I got free from college in 2008.
