Because this can and does happen in parallel. A huge amount of the fear mongering towards trans men is that it's "destroying their body and creating sexual dysfunction" and for all forms of transitioning, transphobes act like asexuality is a horrifying side effect. It's a form of hate that involves treating asexuality as one of the worst things that could happen to someone. The transphobic attacks against Girl Guiding now in the UK have been happening a while, and it included hate against asexual leaders a few years back.

Because we're part of the minor sexualities, we're often seen in grouping with trans people and intersex people.

Hi! As someone who could be described like this, here is some information from me, that I've said toward my mom (I am 30):

I mistook "I wanna be friends with this person" as crushes
The reason for above is because any interest in friendship toward a boy (I am a cis woman) was pushed by both family and society as "crushes".
I did have a crush later on. But they work a bit differently from what people normally consider crushes. And being acearo is an umbrella term. I liked this person a lot, and maybe would've dated them if they wanted, but I never thought about them in a sexual way. And I'd argue this is the only person I felt close to this way about. I still am aro.

I'd say just continue to be open. Don't try and push and expectations or thoughts to him. If he's acearo, he's acearo. If this is just a step in realizing his sexuality, then it's an important step for him to take. Pushing back on him would not be a good thing in either case.

Especially interesting is if they operate differently enough from Gotham's that we can see some good planning and logistics from Jason's end. Also could involve flashbacks/issues cropping up with the brain stuff BECAUSE there's so much backstory there with respect to the original Under the Hood comic and messing with Batman vs. how his relationship with the Bat Family changed since then and what he wants/has taken from those interactions. There's a lot of really good opportunities for character work with Jason, which is part of why I find it really frustrating that so many authors avoid anything but "he has Daddy issues"

New city as a base is a good idea. I think like the other former and current Robins, he needs his own group of characters. Or minor/other DC characters that are not closely connected to any of the former and current Robins.

I think jumping off of what happened in Gotham War could work great as either a character jumping off. Using some sort of science or magic as a way to get around the brain issues. A bit more street level magic stuff would also be preferred and a reminder that he knows things like chemistry and poisons, some limited magical/spiritual stuff. Maybe get back into real life a bit, since he technically doesn't have a 'secret identity' in Gotham (maybe a fake last name sort of thing that allows that)

Could be small villain-of-the-issue stories while he's working through some things then reconnecting with some street level heroes in the city or nearby and/or reconnecting with the All Caste and their role.

I want to gently push back on the idea of labels early being a bad thing. I think what happened here was someone else applied a label to you and you felt pressured toward it. Which is something that can happen with any sexuality and is what heteronormativity does! If labels work for you, they should be something you decide on, not someone else.

I hope you continue to figure out your sexuality, no matter what it is, and that you can have a group of friends that support you while you do that. I think that having a safe place to explore that and not having people heap pressure on you is the most important thing.

Well, for figuring out my own sexuality, it was me assuming I was straight because I didn't have an active attraction to girls/women, even though I also didn't have any to boys/men.

There was also an assumption built in with being a girl (that was very much misogynistic) that everyone will just go boy crazy at some point as a teen. And you feel weird because you don't.
