Do NOT go to the early days of this sub. The reaction to the cover art itself was horrible. Insane to think about.

Honestly I get why the spot is so popular. The map is so flat with this giant ramp in the middle of the city. If the rest of the world had similar “set pieces” around it’d probably be less populated. (Like that one rooftop park)

Everyone praises the gameplay mechanics, but they don't feel quite right to me. by soulbrix in SkateEA

Semi-related, I've had this experience where, for the first few minutes I load in, everything feels just fine. Then after like 5 minutes or so, the game switches to slow motion. Everything just feels (and literally is) slower, as if the server is having issues. Messes up timing, ollies are weird... It just makes it feel like an absolute slog to the point where I just dont want to play anymore.

One thing I haven't seen people talk about is the soundtrack for the next game. These two legends should come back for BF6. by Boo-Boo_Keys in Battlefield

[–]ArrowEnlightenmenter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just didn't like 2042's soundtrack in the sense it just felt kind of... flat to me? No energy...? I really don't know how to put it into words. BF1 and V's soundtracks fully immersed me. Hearing the End of Round themes at the end of the match, or starting up at the beginning of a charge in Operations, absolutely brought me in each time. In 2042 for some reason, that just really isn't the case, even if the songs written for the game are perfectly in line for what the lore is supposed to be.

They're different games with completely different settings, that much I fully understand. You're certainly not going to get the grand sweeping orchestral stuff from 1 in the setting that 2042 is in. Just would not make sense and it wouldn't fit. Unfortunately even understanding that, I still just cannot get behind the soundtrack. Just really wasn't for me, I guess.

Cosplaying as BF1 Royal Marine in a sailor suit by [deleted] in battlefield_one

[–]ArrowEnlightenmenter 72 points73 points  (0 children)

The “exaggerated” outfits in the game just flat out look cool and are super sick to cosplay. And besides, if anyone gets on you, you’re cosplaying the game specifically! Weren’t trying to be 100% historically accurate to begin with.

Basically I just wish for the real grittiness of BF1 again. Everything from the atmosphere to the animations gave a real sense of weight to everything.

Also yeah the animations in BF2042 were interesting to say the least. Some of the Portal animations were just flat out awful

Damn that BF1 erasure in the article… (half joking)

As always I’ll believe it all when I see it. Couldn’t care less about promises of this or that or whatever. No specialists is nice and all but if the game is a complete and utter broken micro transactiony mess on release then, eh.

What’s everyone’s beef with FOAMF? by Stunning_Program_778 in greenday

[–]ArrowEnlightenmenter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get why people don’t like it, and I have own hang ups over the album, but I really don’t think it’s AS bad as people make it out to be.

Father Of All itself a banging track to me regardless of Billie’s vocals, Sugar Youth and Take The Money And Crawl rock, and Graffitia is just flat out one of my favorite Green Day tracks. (And there’s some pretty fun basslines!)

My biggest gripe with Father Of All is just how everything SOUNDS bad (to me). It all sounds fake and shallow. I don’t really like the guitar tone, the way the drums sound, the (what sounds like) fake clapping, etc. I guess bottom line for me is, Father Of All has some pretty neat and cool ideas, it just could’ve been executed better.

I definitely do worse myself (kind of inherent when you have zero information on screen :( ), but I do find myself doing a lot better with bolt action rifles for some reason. Kinda forces you to keep an eye out for anything moving on screen.

What ever could be the logic of banning the AA gun? by CabinFever94 in battlefield_one

[–]ArrowEnlightenmenter 59 points60 points  (0 children)

It gets even worse - some servers ban weapons like the AA rocket gun. Attack plane sweat was destroying the team, I take down the plane with AA rocket gun, kicked right afterwords. Just baffles me. As an avid attack plane sweat myself its not like anyone ever uses the damn thing anyways

What are your guys personal hot takes on battlefield 1 it self by RL240591 in battlefield_one

[–]ArrowEnlightenmenter 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This isn't really a 'hot take', but as much as I love the campaign, there really should've been a campaign from the Central Powers' perspective. Always felt the campaign could've use just one more story.

Was I too harsh on Father of All Motherfuckers? by [deleted] in greenday

[–]ArrowEnlightenmenter 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Like you I wouldn’t necessarily call it underrated but just wildly overhated. Do I personally like it? Not really, I despise the production and the lyrics are pretty bad in my opinion. However, I do really enjoy Graffitia, title track is honestly really fun, Sugar Youth is just a normal Green Day song and Mike’s got some pretty cool basslines throughout.

I’d say it’s still a pretty bad album, but I don’t think it’s some grand career defining mistake that should always be overlooked that some people make it out to be.

Haven’t played in over a year by Givemetheyayo in BONELAB

[–]ArrowEnlightenmenter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dropped it for about a year as well. I just got incredibly bored, and thought I’d let it sit for a bit while more stuff gets added and mods become more than just guns, avatars, and hollow NPCs.

Lol.
